Set in a magnificent former auction house, Cigalon brings the fine cuisine of Provence to London. A lively open kitchen offers a flourish of entertainment in Cigalon's effortlessly elegant setting.
Showcasing a classy selection of French recipes, the Cigalon menu sees adventurous flavours served alongside simple yet succulent grill options. Favourites at Cigalon Chancery Lane include roasted suckling pig belly with caramelised peach and butternut squash, or a sublimely fresh market fish of the day served straight from the grill.
For more informal dining, the Baranis bar offers a laidback vibe, where guests can enjoy a bespoke cocktail and Mediterranean-style bar snacks. Plush, cocoon-style booth seating, subdued lighting and exposed brickwork makes Baranis a luxurious yet intimate setting.
From the team behind Michelin-starred Club Gascon, Cigalon and Baranis is also home to the UK's only indoor petanque court. Chancery Lane Tube Station is 7 minutes’ walk away.

The restaurant itself was lovely and the manager (at least I think he was) was very welcoming and attentive. Food itself ranged from outstanding to average. My favourite dish was the chocolate marquise with a berry sorbet. The chocolate was so rich but perfectly balanced by the acidity in the sorbet. We both also really liked the complimentary cocktail which was rosemary and thyme infused champagne. So refreshing! Both mains were great. Perhaps only down points were the chestnut veloute which, although it tasted nice, was a bit boring on the plate and also a very small serve, and my friend ordered the cheese for dessert which she found a bit underwhelming. We would definitely come back to try the a la carte menu.

The food, the service and the ambiance were all delightful. The five course set menu was very good value for money. The service was charming and even extended to producing a special plate when my wife mentioned that it was her birthday.

WONDERFUL!!!!!!!! This was an utter joy, an oasis of gentle sophistication, relaxation, beautiful furnishings and intimate yet spacious dining room - we absolutely loved it! Incredible food, superb wine - we stuck to the basic at £24 a bottle, small menu seasonal and creative, the polenta cakes are delicate, light, fluffy - an amazing texture and flavour a real surprise. Jerusalem artichokes, so simple yet beautifully seasoned and accompanied. My salmon was perfection, and a side order of salad, every mm of the leave was covered in the lightest vinaigrette, not an easy thing to do without it drowning, and becoming limp. Just a truly gorgeous place, delightful staff and kitchen, I had a mini holiday with my gorgeous partner in 2hours. Thank you we will be back, to try out the bar and the Petanque court xx
