Excellent service. Friendly and very efficient staff. The organisation is finely tuned for pre theatre eating.
Standard of food very good.

Housed in the Chichester Festival Theatre, Minerva Bar & Grill serves modern British cuisine using seasonal, local produce. The Minerva Lounge and Brasserie offer drinks and light bites for pre and post-performance refreshment.

Start with Brighton blue cheese, fig, radicchio, and chicory salad with hazelnut dressing, or smoked mackerel mousse with horseradish crème fraiche and focaccia thins. Mains on the Minerva menu include slow-cooked shoulder of pork with mustard sauce, and Sussex beetroot tatin with goats’ cheese. Lighter options include a Mediterranean meze sharing platter, quiche of the day and a British cheese board.

Desserts at The Minerva Bar & Grill also feature local produce and include Sussex summer berry mess and steamed vanilla sponge with sticky bourbon sauce. Local beers and an extensive drinks list including English sparkling wine are also available.

Open to theatregoers and the general public alike, The Minerva at Chichester Festival Theatre is a short walk from the city centre and a 7-minute drive from Chichester Train Station.

A very enjoyable experience. The food was very good, the table placements just far enough apart to allow a good degree of privacy and the young staff were extremely pleasant and efficient, giving the impression that they had been well trained. Everything was beautifully clean and well presented. The only criticism I and my guest had was the relatively limited variety of options on the menu but this certainly would not deter me from booking again. Thank you to all concerned for making this a very enjoyable experience.

Relaxed, informal and pleasant atmosphere with meal and drinks served promptly providing plenty of time to relax prior to going to the theatre.

Male waiter seemed to be in a bit of a hurry so felt rushed. My friends lamb was cold. Was it pulled lamb? apart from the we enjoyed our lunch.

Delicious soup and Hake to follow, both faultlessly served by friendly and polite staff.

I like the light and airy feel this restaurant has, although it does get crowded at lunch time the tables are not too close together. The serving staff were very pleasant and the food delicious and well presented. It was very nice to have a different menu to that of our previous visit as on our previous two visits we had had the same food choices so presumably if we came more often we would easily work our way through the menu, perhaps more than once.

Disappointed. Had booked for the bar and grill upstairs weeks ago, but without warning we found that the bar and grill was closed and we had been moved to the downstairs brasserie, which we usually avoid. Selection on offer not as varied, and although the food was OK, we both felt it was over priced for what we got. Staff were just as good, but if we'd been informed beforehand, we would have cancelled and eaten elsewhere.

I have used this Restaurant on many occasions when visiting the theatre and have always been very satisfied with the menus, and service provided. However on my recent visit I felt that the food provided although very tasty and well presented was rather sparse and overprised.

Very disappointing food choice and quality. Service was extremely prompt and location is second to none if attending the theatre, but regrettably quality of food is poor and menu choice extremely limited.

We were very disappointed with our meal at the Brasserie. The first couse which was a salmon rillette was excellent, but probably needed more than a wafer thin slice of bread to accompany it. The main course we chose was lamb. I can not remember the description, but the lamb arrived in a shredded reconstituted stack, it was Luke warm, tasteless and texture was most disappointing. I left half of mine. The mash and accompanying vegetables were good but for 15 pounds the course seemed over priced. We did complain to the manager and were given a free dessert. We chose the cheese board and the cheese board was excellent. Three very different tasty cheeses. As the main course was so awful I do not think we will go back. I would like to add that all the staff were excellent.
