Delicious meal and good service at the Minerva Restaurant, the atmosphere was good and felt clean, could be a bit more atmospheric in the evening if the tables maybe had a small candle and prettier flowers or herb pot ?

Housed in the Chichester Festival Theatre, Minerva Bar & Grill serves modern British cuisine using seasonal, local produce. The Minerva Lounge and Brasserie offer drinks and light bites for pre and post-performance refreshment.

Start with Brighton blue cheese, fig, radicchio, and chicory salad with hazelnut dressing, or smoked mackerel mousse with horseradish crème fraiche and focaccia thins. Mains on the Minerva menu include slow-cooked shoulder of pork with mustard sauce, and Sussex beetroot tatin with goats’ cheese. Lighter options include a Mediterranean meze sharing platter, quiche of the day and a British cheese board.

Desserts at The Minerva Bar & Grill also feature local produce and include Sussex summer berry mess and steamed vanilla sponge with sticky bourbon sauce. Local beers and an extensive drinks list including English sparkling wine are also available.

Open to theatregoers and the general public alike, The Minerva at Chichester Festival Theatre is a short walk from the city centre and a 7-minute drive from Chichester Train Station.

Lovely salmon, beautifully cooked, a bit too much sauce; green salad disappointing - too many green tomatoes which I don't eat, should have asked for a green 'leaf' salad and I had to ask a second time for some balsamic dressing - nevertheless the two of us very much enjoyed our lunch - and not having to rush.

Food was very nice, 5 of us had the chargrilled steak and one had soup. All was excellent. then we all had puddings and again they were very nice indeed. Will always eat
in the Minerva when we come to see a show. Service was excellent and very quick too!

Bright and light with a good view of Oakland Park. I normally always only have a starter and dessert any more is too much for me, but I do enjoy the fish cakes

Nice meal and good service but spoilt by fish not properly prepared and full of bones! Pity!

I have eating problems. Your staff and chefs always are happy to recommend and prepare dishes that I can eat - I am so grateful about this! I had pork and would have preferred fish - I'm trying to avoid red meat these days (not for political reasons, I just seem unable to digest meat easily) but it was still delicious. Your staff are always delightful.

The Brasserie at Chichester Festival TheAtre last Thursday was excellent. Modern, stylish restaurant. I had a steak which was good, and my husband had pork which he said was excellent. I had butternut squash soup starter Which was good.

Excellent service - our waiter was very enthusiastic and keen to offer gin advice (we prefer the Brasserie for it's extensive gin menu) I was happy to try his suggestion, while my partner enjoyed his favourite Hoxton coconut gin - our food arrived promptly and all courses were lovely. My butternut soup was particularly good - with a variety of home made bread.
