Housed in the Chichester Festival Theatre, Minerva Bar & Grill serves modern British cuisine using seasonal, local produce. The Minerva Lounge and Brasserie offer drinks and light bites for pre and post-performance refreshment.

Start with Brighton blue cheese, fig, radicchio, and chicory salad with hazelnut dressing, or smoked mackerel mousse with horseradish crème fraiche and focaccia thins. Mains on the Minerva menu include slow-cooked shoulder of pork with mustard sauce, and Sussex beetroot tatin with goats’ cheese. Lighter options include a Mediterranean meze sharing platter, quiche of the day and a British cheese board.

Desserts at The Minerva Bar & Grill also feature local produce and include Sussex summer berry mess and steamed vanilla sponge with sticky bourbon sauce. Local beers and an extensive drinks list including English sparkling wine are also available.

Open to theatregoers and the general public alike, The Minerva at Chichester Festival Theatre is a short walk from the city centre and a 7-minute drive from Chichester Train Station.

7 of us enjoyed the 2 course meal we each selected. Sadly one found a fly in her main course. She had an apology and a fresh meal, but having been told that the kitchen kept an open window I did wonder why there was no mesh to prevent the entry of flies. I hope this can be addressed.

Excellent service, especially given the need to feed so many people at the same time.
    Pleasant staff.

Restaurant was very full , the ambience being spoilt due to noisy atmosphere .The food was good quality with excellent service.Staff polite & personal.

The service was excellent: very attentive and very polite, as well as rapid which is vital for a pre-performance meal.
We had sharing platters which were good. Not enough bread provided - we had to ask for more!

Ambiance, food & setting excellent. Attentive but not obtrusive waiters who were very well-trained and professional

The meal was very good but my wife is gluten and vinegar free and has had severe consequence resulting from our visit. She chose gluten free options including soup and the fish. We wonder if vinegar was included in either of the items or if her problem was elsewhere.

as with previous visits our recent luncheon excellent. Arranged on line everything fell into place. Smartly attired and courteous waiting staff One did of course wince just slightly at cost of wine but the MArlborough Sauvignon blanc nonetheless authentic and very appropriate . Will certainly come again

For my wife and me, lunch at the Brasserie is an absolutely essential part of going to a CFT matinee. The food is always excellent, beautifully cooked, served in just the right quantity for enjoyment but not to put us to sleep during the show. A very pleasant glass of wine and two excellent coffees accompanied our meal. We alway find the service absolutely outstanding. It is prompt and readily available, but not at all obtrusive. The waiting staff are knowledgeable and cheerful and clearly enjoy their work, as they always confirm if we ask them. 'I look forward to coming to work in the morning.' - as one voluntarily said. You have built up a very successful formula. Please try to hold onto it!
