Good venue with nice decor, food and prices. Wednesday night 8:30pm to 11:30pm was medium busy with a quiet crowd of after-work suited business people out with their teams, so not as romantic or social as expected. Seating selection offered by host was limited even though reservations were Madeira advance and many empty tables were seen which brought this venue from good down to average.

Good food and location, staff were very helpful and attentive. Watch out for the service charge added to your bill, seems to be standard in London but I would like to be given the choice !

Food was good and the venue was great, however it was let down by very poor service from the waiters. The place was half empty and we still had to chase them for menus, drinks and the bill. The bill needed to be changed as well as additional items added in error. Also I can’t stand that they clear the table and lean over you to collect plates when some people are still eating... very rude! Doubt I’ll come back again.

Just a 5 minute walk from Barbican tube station. The restaurant is in the basement of Malmaison hotel. We were there on a Tuesday night week leading up to Xmas and wasn't that busy, you need to go down some stairs and then your in the small bar area, turn to the right for the restaurant it's not massive we were a party of 6 women we had a table in an alcove so we were set back a little which was great felt like private dining and as a small group we can get noisy when chatting n laughing so felt we didn't disturb other diners. Staff were friendly and if we asked for something it was no trouble We had booked a star deal so had a set 2 or 3 course menu Good selection to choose from Nicely presented food not too much nor miniature portions majority chose the fish cakes for main which I can only describe as Eggs Benedict but with fish looked lovely, We were treated to an extra desert as I couldn't decide between Sticky Toffee Pudding and Creme Brûlée so we got the Creme Brûlée to share between the 6 of us and it was heaven! A lovely surprise We all agreed we would visit again
