Chester draws visitors to its magnificent cathedral and ancient Roman amphitheatre, as well as being a haven for shoppers, where the historic half-timbered Chester Rows are a highlight. Restaurants in Chester don’t disappoint: the town offers several high-end independent options, along with a number of smarter chain venues. Several Chester restaurants are housed in some of the area’s most fascinating old-world buildings.
One such historic hideaway is the Frogg Manor Hotel and Restaurant, located in rolling countryside, 20 minutes’ drive from Chester proper. Moving back to central Chester, it has to be Moules a Go-Go, an informal yet stylish choice serving all kinds seafood treats in continental fashion. Creative menu items include bucket of prawns and New England steam pot.
