Customer reviews for Chaophraya - Leeds

We've been dining here on and off since the first day it opened in 2004. Back then it was the only Chaophraya in the UK now I believe there are 22. We haven't been for a long time and I have to say we were rather disappointed. The restaurant is very "corporate" and now lacks the ambiance it once had when it first opened, especially upstairs (the ground floor is better). We were very disappointed with the "starters", in this case a sharing platter, that had a variety of tasteless dishes very poorly presented rather reminiscent of a really bad take-away. The other dishes we had (a lamb curry, fish, a really unusual rice dish and a veg dish) were excellent. Overall there are other Thai restaurants in Leeds that are better and we probably won't go back to Chaophraya any time soon.

I was looking forward to my annual Christmas outing and was very disappointed. Having visited many times and loved it was totally a let down. The mixed share platter starter was awful. Main dishes were average. Pad Thai noodles were awful. Too much tofu
