Had a lovely New Years day lunch with family £40 each for 3 couses with unlimited prosecco and a wonderful piano player. Only 6 mins walk from train station in nice area. Not many other people there so they put us in a funky private circular pod which we loved. The service was exceptional throughout the hotel and restaurant. Stylish reception lounge, if a liittle small and tired in places, but fantastic for opening presents and coffee. Restaurant glasses and plates and service etc good. Piano player took requests and quickly learnt any songs he didnt know, fantastic. Food was tasty but if being a perfectionist the soup was a little lukewarm and lamb too too rare, not pink. But dont let this put you off we should have asked for it to be cooked more. They would have been happy too.

Good food. Adequate service, good when there but inattentive and did not check in enough. Not level of service expected for price. Seated in cold space by door despite space elsewhere

Afternoon tea. Ordering was difficult due to a significant language barrier. Private room was perfect for catching up with friends. Food was fine. Choice of tea was poor but maybe I've been spoilt elsewhere.

Booking was fine. The food, was very nice, but the level of service and atmosphere was very poor. The "mulled wine" was undrinkable (which we were charged extra for along with 2 tiny mince pies). Service was very slow and our food took 45 minutes to arrive. There were missing items also, which we had to ask for. The restaurant is very dark and dull. The table was wobbly. There was nothing special or interesting about the decor or table items. I have been to significantly better quality places and been charged much less money. Very disappointed with my visit. I would certainly not recommend it to anyone and would not visit again.

i took my 83 year old mother for tea at Cerise. The scones were delicious but we were slightly disappointed with "finger"sandwiches. The filling was not seasoned and bread a bit dry. Also very disappointed with he service which was almost non existent. Plus the room was quite basic and not what we had expected.

Absolute treat. Four of us had the taster menu with wine flight, delightful round table in a secluded alcove, as good as private dining. Wonderful service each elegantly presented dish and wine described elaborately. Each course was an experience and the apple and goat's cheese was an absolute explosion of flavours. A great evening's entertainment.

Very high standard of cooking - this restaurant deserves to be much more popular and well known. The menu is not wide but still has a very good choice. I had delicious Venison main course, served with chocolate jelly & crisps, Mini vegetables and red wine jus. Not huge portions but very high quality and interesting combination of flavours. Dessert was delcicious too - Fig and Orange fresh fig, poached orange, yoghurt panna cotta, orange curd, fig sorbet, port jelly. Again totally delicious. Bravo!
