Patchy but well meaning service. Food of a reasonably quality but menu clearly designed for ease of production, storage and service. Tap water was undrinkable, had to order mineral...

At arrival we were not asked to take care of our jackets or very wet umbrella, after our request this was done. The table was either beside a very noise group, by the wall (which have stains all over) or a table which was moving and "rotating"; we took the noisy group table because it was "full booked" but it turned out that half of the tables were empty while we were there.
The food came in reasonable time and was indeed very good, I will recommend a visit for the food.
Clearly the staff tried their best, after waiting long time to ask for the bill and then after more waiting ... have to go to reception to pay where we again have to wait because the waiter was busy. Other guest were waiting as well.
After being abroad many years going back to Cerise was like traveling back in time, it is clearly a wear out restaurant, stains on the walls, lights hanging out of the sockets, dirty windows.
I will recommend Cerise for the food which was good, the staff very polite but cannot give good service since they were clearly too few. The facilities are still nice but need refreshing, dust and dirt in the windows and walls are just not acceptable for a restaurant.

Taster menu was excellent, however when the dishes came out there was a delay of 3 to 5 minutes waiting for the wine flight. This needs to much more coordinated with the sommelier. The main dish despite warm plates almost was cold before we got the wine! Although overall experience was as expected, quality food and a great selection of wines with the dishes.

As there was 8 of us we were sat in a room which was really nice. I thought the drinks expensive (such £6 for a pint of draft Asahi) even though it's a very nice place. It was my first time at the restaurant and it's a really nice place with really nice decor. However the most notable point was the service which was terrible. It was good to begin with but when we asked for the bill we hadn't seen a member of staff for an hour and he had been in the room we were in to get a specific bottle of (whisky were stored there) not to see us. A few of us were thinking about desert and we had to go and ask for the desert menus and no one came to ask if we'd like to order any. In the end it was getting too late and we didn't bother. Place was lovely, being located in that room was fantastic but service let it down.

Surroundings good and food good. Service was slow at times - staff seemed inexperienced although attentive.

The restaurant seemed lovely but it was let down by the service we received. This was a very special occasion and I had booked afternoon tea as a surprise for my cousins hen do. We were showed to our table and then left for ages and I ended up having to go and ask for menus. No drinks orders were taken, we were only offered some water and not all of our party was having afternoon tea. When afternoon tea arrived the man who was serving the tea, was pouring the tea into everyones cups and everyone (5 people in total) who received breakfast tea, each told him whilst he was pouring that the tea was too weak and he just ignored them and carried on pouring it. Thankfully there was ONE member of staff who was helpful and rectified the mistakes of his colleague. His name was Claudio and was a credit to the place. This was meant to be a special treat and it ended up being an expensive and very disappointing experience.
