A short walk away from London Shaftesbury Avenue & Soho, both teeming with activity, Cambridge Hotel is a traditional pub serving wholesome British classics in a warm, welcoming environment. Popular with both audiences & actors, the pub is housed in an 1887 building right next to the Palace Theatre.

Since Nicholson’s pubs were first established in 1873, these traditional British inns have become synonymous with warm hospitality, hearty pub food and a speciality range of ales. As well as always featuring British pub classics like beer-battered fish & chips and gammon & eggs, the Cambridge menu is complemented by a rotating selection of pie, sausage & chop and fish specials for each season.

The Cambridge bar is always stocked with exquisite gins, warming whiskies and fine wines to pair with favourite meals, and there’s always a superb range of seasonal and regional real ales on offer. A constant at the bar is the St Austell-brewed Nicholson’s Pale Ale, made with Cornish Maris Otter malts, and a hand-picked blend of English hops.

The Cambridge Hotel in – Leicester Square is a 3-minute walk from Leicester Square Tube Station.

We dined here in between the two Harry Potter plays Parts 1 & 2. The restaurant area was clean and tidy and the service was efficient and friendly. Our food arrived in good time but was not rushed. Not overly expensive.

Nice, informal atmosphere with good, reasonably-priced atmosphere. Service a bit quirky but good. Excellent for both tube and theatres.

The afternoon tea is a bit disappointing. The set up of the afternoon tea is not in details. The afternoon tea is not traditional. It is just fair.
