My uncle and I dined with you on Fri 19th Jan at 7 pm. A meal somewhere nice to celebrate his birthday, at least that was the plan. For the best part of £200, we both were extremely disappointed and dissatisfied; The Scallop antipasti were reasonable, the scallops were soft (they would have benefited from some further caramelization) but we felt were under-seasoned. The lobster ravioli was decent however under-seasoned (needed salt to bring out the sweetness of the lobster); the addition of salty tempura didn't quite do the job. My uncle had the steak for main, order rare; it came medium rare and was under-seasoned, the potato accompaniment was soft and bland. I had the venison, it was cooked well but again lacked seasoning - there was not enough sauce (best part of the dish was the mashed potato - didn't make up for the rest, however. We had a side of spinach and green beans - both had no seasoning at all. We had the hazelnut square and blood orange sorbet for dessert, another disappointment; hardly any flavour, no sweetness, confused (not sure of the addition of the red sponge - did not taste of anything). We had the side dishes taken off the bill, some solace can be found there, but, overall we were and remain disappointed. We shall not recommend.

We visited Caldesi's with friends and, as usual, had a great dining experience with great customer service. Caldesi's has become our favourite restaurant over the last number of years and unfortunately we only get to go there a couple of times a year. On this occasion the duck liver starter and the venison were particularly good. It is also great to the see the owner, Giancarlo, there are interacting with the customers. Couldn't rate the restaurant highly enough.

There were 6 of us celebrating a joint birthday. We had booked for a Sunday Lunchtime. The service was exceptional and the food superb. It was a fixed price menu but the choices were varied. The presentation of all the meals was first class. Highly recommended. Not cheap but worth the money
