Restaurant description

With a rustic interior, Café Rouge Worcester offers a variety of tasty French dishes. Around the corner from the Lychgate shopping centre, Cafe Rouge boasts an outside seating area for al fresco dining.

As part of the nationwide group of Café Rouge restaurants, this branch offers their range of classic French dishes such as confit duck, beef bourguignon, steak frites and mussels. Smaller dishes are also on offer for a lighter bite. Particularly good value for money are the set menus for lunch and dinner (available most days). To accompany the food there is also a good range of French wines, many from less well known producers.

In true French style, breakfast is also an important meal at Café Rouge. With croissants, pain au chocolat, omelettes and croques, as well as hot chocolate, tea and all types of coffees, it makes a great start to the day.

A 5-minute drive from both Worcester Foregate Street and Worcester Shrub Hill train stations, Café Rouge is a short walk from Worcester Cathedral and Huntingdon Hall.

Dishes displayed on a la carte menus are representative of the type of food available at the restaurant.

My Grandaughter and I eat here a couple of times a month. The food is always brilliant, staff very friendly and it is nice to be able to have a conversation without music blaring in the background. We nick named these evenings "catch up with Caera nights". We nearly always have a steak which is cooked just as we like them.

The restaurant was very cold inside and I had to ask for the heating to be turned on. My wife ate her meal with her coat on due to the conditions. Some diners also asked to be moved to a warmer part of the restaurant. The service was not that good due to the lack of staff on shift. We had to wait for our drinks and once we had eaten our main it took them 15 minutes to acknowledge that we had finished and ready to order our sweet.
