In the vibrant heart of the Milton Keynes entertainment complex, Café Rouge offers diners a taste of French cuisine in a modern yet authentic setting. Al fresco dining overlooks the performance area at the Hub:MK.

As part of the nationwide group of Café Rouge restaurants, this branch offers their range of classic French dishes such as confit duck, beef bourguignon, steak frites and mussels. Smaller dishes are also on offer for a lighter bite. Particularly good value for money are the set menus for lunch and dinner (available most days). To accompany the food there is also a good range of French wines, many from less well known producers.

In true French style, breakfast is also an important meal at Café Rouge. With croissants, pain au chocolat, omelettes and croques, as well as hot chocolate, tea and all types of coffees, it makes a great start to the day.

Café Rouge – Milton Keynes Hub offers affordable French cuisine in a vibrant setting.

Unfortunately we were not able to honour our booking as my friend was unwell. However, we are very regular at our local Cafe Rouge in Hichin and love it.

I'd never been to Cafe Rouge before and found the experience enjoyable. The service was prompt and the waiter and waitresses were pleasant and helpful. The food was good value for money. The only criticism I have is that the lighting by the window was too low. That apart I would recommend the establishment

It was a nice evening, the restaurant was very quiet but still felt quite disorganised. We'd pre-ordered our food, adding on the last person's order via email which seemed to cause some unnecessary confusion which was a shame.

Sadly 2 people said they were going to make toast when they got home as didn't feel full after 3 courses! My own meal was large but could see that some portions were far from generous.

Pre ordering itemised each person's bill which should have made paying so much easier, but this wasn't stuck to by the restaurant, drinks weren't itemised and at the end of the evening we were presented with one total bill, which also hadn't removed the deposit we'd all paid, this was very disappointing and could easily have been missed. A great system in place, but needs education as the restaurant don't seem to know how to work with it.

The fire alarm was tested near the end of our meal, although we were warned, it was still shockingly loud, would be better to do this when they don't have customers.

Overall a nice meal, nothing outstanding but nothing wrong with it, wouldn't encourage me to go back. Service was ok.

Having dined here several times with the whole family of ten and enjoyed the meal and the excellent service we were very disappointed this time. Although the food was good the service was not. We along with others in the restaurant had to wait some 40 minutes plus for orders to be taken and then have to wait quite a while for them to arrive. Although we should have liked to stay for a desert it was in fact 2 1/2 hours since arrival to get to that point and with 4 youngsters with us we could not wait any longer. Talking to others on our way out it was obvious that we were not the only ones who were unhappy and the table next to us had also been before and been impressed with the service but not on this occasion. The waitress when she attended to us was pleasant enough but when she said 'be back in two minutes' it was more like 15 or even more.
