Housed within an impressive building, Cafe Rouge – Greenwich O2 presents a chic, French-style retreat from the bustle. Floor-to-ceiling windows give the dining room a fresh, airy feel.

As part of the nationwide group of Café Rouge restaurants, this branch offers classic French dishes such as confit duck, beef bourguignon, steak frites and mussels. Smaller dishes also offer for a lighter bite. Particularly good value for money are the set menus for lunch and dinner (available most days). To accompany the food there is also a good range of French wines, many from less well known producers.

In true French style, breakfast is an important meal at Café Rouge in Greenwich. With croissants, pain au chocolat, omelettes and croques, as well as hot chocolate, tea and all types of coffees, it makes a great start to the day.

Nestled in a tranquil area of London, Cafe Rouge French restaurant in the O2 Arena is just a 2-minute drive from Maze Hill Rail Station.

The only good feature about this restaurant was its proximity to the venue i was visiting. The greating was luke warm, the booth in which i sat had staining on the upholstry. Orders were taken and drinks arrived. All as expected. Food arrived, incorrect side order, portions smaller than expected and food was not hot. Would only use this restaurant out of necessity not choice.

We were given two different menus and when we asked for clarification, two of us had been given the wrong menus! However, the vegetarian crepes which were not on the menu, were available! It reminded us of the Rhod Gilbert comedy sketch about the British Rail sandwich! The wine took half an hour to arrive. The food took longer. Two of us received ours, then the staff took food to two other tables before our two friends received theirs! The food was only just hot. The two people on the table beside us gave up and left. A very poor experience and I shall not be using Cafe Rouge again.

Location right outside the O2 was excellent. The food was good but the service was appalling as the Manager had sent all the staff home as it wasn't busy earlier and then when the restaurant filled up they weren't able to cope. The staff that were on were inexperienced and didn't know the menu and couldn't cope with the number of diners. A lot of people walked out!

My partners steak was terrible. Very overcooked when we requested one that was cooked medium. Because we had to send it back we effectively had dinner separately.

Very pleasant and welcoming staff, service brilliant but five of the party had burgers which were very overcooked and dry/rubbery. My sea bream was however good. Always had great meals in various Cafe Rouge's over the years so the food was disappointing as certainly not a budget option either.

We were a group of 5 ladies having lunch before a function at the O2 Arena. We had 2 courses for £12.95. We all chose something different and all the meals were lovely. Very good service from a very polite young man. Definitely would recommend.

Unfortunately there were some severe delays in the restaurant that made our experience very stressful. We were going to the o2 arena and had booked in plenty of time (2 hours) for a 2 course meal but there were very long waits for the food to come from the kitchen. We had to ask numerous times for our food and there was no sense of management control. Our waiters and waitresses were polite but seemed to be waiting for food to come from the kitchen. When our main course did arrive ironically some of it was cold!
Our waiters were polite and appreciated our problems as we were fast running out of time and reduced the bill as a small compensation but it is unlikely we will return.

It was a pretty awful dining experience. The waitress/ manager was annoyed that we were early (15 minutes) and commented that everyone was early that day. She showed us to a table and made it clear that we could not be served yet. This was no problem for us. We felt very unwelcome. My 5 year old granddaughter wanted pasta from the children's menu and we were told that the restaurant was out of pasta!! How can a restaurant be out of pasta and tomato sauce? When my granddaughter asked for felt tip pens to colour in the sheet she had been given, she was given a brown and a blue one only. This nearly led to a tantrum! My starter was cold and was replaced. However, I was too full to enjoy it. I am not convinced that the mains dish I ordered was the one I received. However, by this time the restaurant was very busy and our waitress was serving other customers. She did not come to us and ask us if we wanted dessert. We had been waiting about 20 minutes when another waitress asked us if we wanted anything else.
My personal view is that there were too many customers and too few waiters. I will never eat at Cafe Rouge again.
