Poor and limited Tste if Rouge menu. Lots of dishes unavailable. Wines the same with 1st 2 choices unavailable. Both main dishes very poor. Muscles too salty to finish. Chicken so bland a pot noodle would have been an improvement. Staff average and disinterest. Never again Cafe Rouge.

Service somewhat haphazard. I got my meal as the others had nearly finished, but its price was removed from the bill. Food OK but not with the wow factor.

Overall a pleasant evening meal, though surprisingly quiet for the Friday evening before Christmas. Sharing charcuterie board with melted Camembert and crab pate was good value and very tasty, though had to ask for more bread as only 2 small pieces each originally offered. Mains - coq-au-vin and confit of duck (both staple Cafe Rouge items) were full of flavour, but dauphinois potatoes too dry. Overall food good, just a shame about the ambiance. Drinks on the steep side, especially soft drinks.
