The restaurant is nice and its red coloured décor suits very well a Christmas meal. The staff was very nice and the food was delicious - the tagine especially!

Decorated in the definitive Café Rouge style, this Cambridge branch serves French cuisine on Bridge Street, midway between the punts and the city centre shops.

Belonging to the popular UK-wide group of Café Rouge restaurants, this restaurant offers their range of classic French dishes such as deep-fried camembert, steak frites, beef bourguignon and confit duck. For those short on time, lighter dishes are available, and the set menus provide excellent value for those on a budget. To drink, there is a range of French wines, many from less well known producers.

As you would expect from a French restaurant, breakfast is also an important meal at Café Rouge. For a great start to the day, you can choose from croissants, pain au chocolat, baguettes, omelettes and croques, with hot chocolate, tea and coffees as an accompaniment.

The handy location of Cambridge Café Rouge near to the river and most famous colleges makes it a popular choice for tourists, but it is also good for a meal out before going to the pubs and bars on Bridge Street or in the city centre.

We all enjoyed our meal all 5 of us. Waitress was friendly ,and thought that the food was very good. Usually ordered ribeye steak but
12 oz to large, why not 8 oz as before.

    Great duck!

We sat in the courtyard and looking up saw a balcony covered in filth which caused concern that some of it might drop into our food. Starters were good but the Moules marinière were rather small and overcooked. The boeuf bourguignon did not appear to have any red wine or garlic - just a very ordinary beef stew that had been kept hot too long.
