Housed on the upper floor of the Birmingham Bullring shopping centre, Café Rouge serves up authentic French dishes, and features an al fresco dining area, red banquettes and a glorious bar.
As part of the nationwide group of Café Rouge restaurants, this branch offers their range of classic French dishes such as confit duck, beef bourguignon, steak frites and mussels. Smaller dishes are also on offer for a lighter bite. Particularly good value for money are the set menus for lunch and dinner (available most days). To accompany the food there is also a good range of French wines, many from less well known producers.
In true French style, breakfast is also an important meal at Café Rouge. With croissants, pain au chocolat, omelettes and croques, as well as hot chocolate, tea and all types of coffees, it makes a great start to the day.
With the friendly atmosphere of a traditional Parisian brasserie, Café Rouge - Birmingham Bullring is the perfect place to dine between shops.

From the booking service onwards it was easy to do. The meal was lovely and good value. The restaurant had run out of some of the desert options which was strange being as we had booked these a week in advance but as we could choose alternatives off the main menu we were very pleased with the alternatives. Staff were lovely - couldn't fault the experience.

I had a voucher for a Birthday bottle of Prosecco and as my sister and I meet here a few times a year, I booked the Bullring. I have eaten (and had a bottle of Bubbly) here quite a few times in the past. Good was great and the waiter was attentive and friendly. What is not to like ??

Great food - wrong environment for us. Was looking for a bistro cafe for a rare night out, got an cramped table with reduced seasonal menu. Maybe on another night it would have been a different experience.

Food was lovely , the restaurant was busy we waited nearly an hour for our main course and the fries were cold on both meals , my partner had the mussels and asked the server for some bread by the time this arrived he had eaten his meal , i do appreciate its very busy but the staff seemed to be running round chasing their tails - I do observe and find it quite odd that a member of staff was serving customers in a jacket/ coat which was quite off putting ,

Our experience at the above cafe was not good. The food was good but not warm, two had to go back to be warmed in the microwave. We arrived at the cafe for our booking early(which was 12.15) without one of our party who arrived at the right time but was sent by your staff to a different table which caused half a hour delay, one of us had to leave without having her meal it was finally it was over an hour before we got our main meal. We were not charged for her meal and also not charged for our drinks. We have always dined at Cafe Rouge but whether we will again remains to be seen.

Our steaks were really good but vegetarian choice was limited. Our pudding, Eton Mess, was very poor - just textured ice cream dumped in a dish. I did tell waiter after we paid but he didn’t seem too interested.

Lovely food, the offer we had was excellent. We did have to wait a while for a food, but the waiter Chris was very good, explaining there was a delay, ensuring we got some drinks in the meantime and keeping us updated.

We were greeted by the manager who showed us to our table for 2 which was nice and private as it was by the window. He explained that there was no garlic bread or burgers and said that he had seen my note saying we needed to be out by 7pm as we were going to the theatre. Our waiter was called Chris .He was very helpful polite and friendly. The meal came after about 20 mins. We had our favourite s minute steak for me and demi pocket for my husband . The food was cooked perfect and we enjoyed it. The bill came promptly and we were out before 7pm in time for the theatre .overall the food and service were excellent.
