Restaurant description

In the city's buzzing and vibrant Brindleyplace, Café Rouge offers traditional French cuisine in a delightful French setting. Complete with large al fresco dining area overlooking the river, Café Rouge Birmingham boasts a menu for all occasions.

An authentic French feel greets diners as they enjoy a range of French dishes at Café Rouge. As part of the nationwide group of Café Rouge restaurants, this branch offers their range of classic French dishes such as confit duck, beef bourguignon, steak frites and mussels. Smaller dishes are also on offer for a lighter bite. Particularly good value for money are the set menus for lunch and dinner (available most days). To accompany the food there is also a good range of French wines, many from less well known producers.

In true French style, breakfast is also an important meal at Café Rouge. With croissants, pain au chocolat, omelettes and croques, as well as hot chocolate, tea and all types of coffees, it makes a great start to the day.

Surrounded by hotels, Café Rouge Brindleyplace is within walking distance of the Crescent Theatre, Highlight Comedy and a variety of galleries.

Long time since we have eaten in Cafe Rouge. Surprised by the vastly improved menu and quality of the dishes. Service was a bit slow, in restaurant for 2 hours.

I was disappointed as neither the meal nor the service was the standard I expected. I opted for the set menu as I have previously ordered from this . The rillette starter was tasty but could have benefitted from a couple of rocket leaves to make it look attractive and the sauce for the chicken chasseur was rather thin although the Meal had a pleasant taste. The serving staff seemed over stretched although the restaurant did not seem to be that busy and there were no enquiries about whether we enjoyed the meal.

Clean, Service ok, Food pretty tasteless. not enough garlic in escargots, Bouillabaisse appeared to be made of frozen ingredients. Mussels were enjoyed by my wife . It wasn't poor but neither was it good. Would I go
