Restaurant description

Café Rouge Bournemouth serves French brasserie-style cuisine in a picturesque and vibrant setting. Branksome Rail Station is within easy walking distance of Café Rouge.

As part of the nationwide group of Café Rouge restaurants, this branch offers their range of classic French dishes such as confit duck, beef bourguignon, steak frites and mussels. Smaller dishes are also on offer for a lighter bite. Particularly good value for money are the set menus for lunch and dinner (available most days). To accompany the food there is also a good range of French wines, many from less well known producers.

In true French style, breakfast is also an important meal at Café Rouge. With croissants, pain au chocolat, omelettes and croques, as well as hot chocolate, tea and all types of coffees, it makes a great start to the day.

Café Rouge in Bournemouth has a spacious yet inviting dining area, where the classic flavours of French cuisine can be enjoyed.

The snails went down well! Great children's menu and activity pack. Very good service and menu choice. Delicious chocolate sundae. Good quality food!

Evening meal and I made full use of my Tesco Vouchers which made the whole experience even more worthwhile. The garlic bread is simply fantastic and oozing in garlic oil. Then I had the onion soup which I thought may be too mass produced by caferouge but completely wrong as the flavours were really strong and meaty and full of onions. I then had chicken for mains and my partner had the steak. Both very nice but if i had one complaint it would be that you have to pay for side orders like veg separately and i do feel it should be included for the price. Then dessert is just a mass of wonderful choices however i opted for the trio of creme brulee and i promise you will not be disappointed!

Windsor has been our favourite Cafe Rouge up to now but we really like the atmosphere in the restaurant at Westbourne, Bournemouth. We have recently moved to Bournemouth so this is a bonus for us - thank you.
