Lovely traditional french decor which was a reminder of some cafes we have been into while on holiday in France

Set apart from the surrounding shops by its red frontage, Café Rouge Bath serves a delicious array of French dishes. In the heart of Bath, Café Rouge is within walking distance of the Roman Baths.
As part of the nationwide group of Café Rouge restaurants, this branch offers their range of classic French dishes such as confit duck, beef bourguignon, steak frites and mussels. Smaller dishes are also on offer for a lighter bite. Particularly good value for money are the set menus for lunch and dinner (available most days). To accompany the food there is also a good range of French wines, many from less well known producers.
In true French style, breakfast is also an important meal at Café Rouge. With croissants, pain au chocolat, omelettes and croques, as well as hot chocolate, tea and all types of coffees, it makes a great start to the day.
With its glorious red banquettes and high ceilings, Café Rouge – Bath is perfect for a pre or post-theatre meal. Theatre Royal Bath is a 5-minute walk away.

An appalling meal. Could not eat the duck. We were the only people there! Surely that says a lot.

Cafe Rouge is in one of Bath's main streets so the actual setting is a good start. The interior is light and airy and incredibly large. It's decor is,perhaps, reminiscent of a French train station cafe. The menu is extensive but we had the set menu which is available from midday and a lot easier to cope with. The food was delicious and plentiful, although chips with mussels a little odd. Excellent service from start to finish. Will definitely be going there again.

Lovely evening service was brilliant, our choice of dessert wasn't available so waiter gave us a choice of another on the house.

Very enjoyable, waiter was very pleasant, chatted to us while we waited for guests to arrive, sold us more than we intended to eat and drink

Very poor service, very slow,
One meal arrived 10 minutes after everything else, one dish didn't arrive at all. Asked 4 times for crayons to go with child's colour in menu. Food ok but not great.

The Chips ! We're a big let down ! They did not compliment the rest of the meal .
