The starting point at Montmartre restaurant is healthy, hearty, high quality café cuisine composed by head chef John Leslye.
The café is located in the reopened Jazzhus Montmartre, a Copenhagen music scene institution with a long history, and is evocatively decorated with oak furniture and bar, long red velvet curtains, and modern art on the walls. At the end of the room lies the stage, which each week features some of the biggest names in jazz worldwide. The menu is mainly organic, with much of the produce and other ingredients imported directly from Italy.
Montmartre is run by Elvio Milleri and Alessandro Jacoponi, who are also behind Era Ora, antiristorante L'Altro and Acqua Marina, some of the most famous Italian gourmet restaurants in Copenhagen. During the day, the kitchen serves rustic, organic café cuisine, while the evening menu is dedicated to delicious Italian classics. The café is also famous for its uncompromising coffee, which is made on an original FAEMA-espresso machine from 1968.
