Restaurant description

Cafe Mode – Covent Garden sits in a quaint, pretty setting just 2 minutes’ walk from Shaftesbury Theatre. As well as popular pavement dining, the cosy dining room offers sleek, bistro-style furnishings.

Offering a Mediterranean style retreat in bustling Covent Garden, the Café Mode menu combines Italian classics with a range of simple, succulent grill dishes. Traditional delights like creamy porcini mushroom risotto and mozzarella and roast vegetable salad are offset by hearty, 100% beef burgers and juicy lamb cutlets that sizzle straight from the grill.

Cafe Mode restaurant offers a well researched wine selection, from easy-drinking, fruity choices to spicy, savoury aromas, alongside a range of international beers. To round off a delicious meal, Cafe Mode London offers a tempting range of desserts, where the tangy raspberry torte and the sumptuous amaretto cheesecake always prove popular choices.

In a stylish, fast-paced region of London, Covent Garden’s Cafe Mode is just a 3-minute stroll from Covent Garden Tube Station.

Amazing service. The restaurant was completely empty as there were roadworks directly outside. Such a shame as it was actually very quiet inside the restaurant. Pasta was great and they were more than happy to substitute any items as they said all dishes were made from scratch anyway. Only issue I had was with needing more seasoning but I just added more salt and they quickly provided both fresh and dried chilies without us asking as my guest mentioned when ordering that she liked spicy food. I would definitely go again.

We went to Cafe' Mode last night to celebrate my birthday but we will definitely go back cause we had a blast! We purchesed a special offer which included pizzas and champagne cocktails for two for just 16 quids. The service was excellent, the staff is really welcoming and friendly. The oven made pizza was served to us in less then 5 minutes and surprisingly it tasted pretty good (coming from an Italian who has tried pizzas around London). We enjoyed the atmosphere in the restaurant, jazzy and relaxing, with Motown music being played in the background. The comedy show was so cool.We enjoyed the variety of the acts, the MC and few other comedians were just hilarious, we laughed throughout the whole show. Thank you for such a brilliant evening Cafe' Mode!

Food was average for price and because we used our taste card we were treated as lower category customers. Servers starters with our mains and didn't even asked for drinks, but charged us for table water

A good experience, quite basic but good value, as I had a wowcher. The comedy was ok a few belly laughs!

We booked on a Tastecard with unlimited number of diners for a group of 20 on a Monday night from 6pm. A pre-show meal for School of Rock which is playing just round the corner. I'd mentioned we needed a quick turnaround of around an hour and 15 mins. Everything was set up when we arrived and Mo, the owner made himself known and attended to all our needs. The drinks and food were turned around super fast and the quality was brilliant. Great selection too on the menu. Everyone complimented me on my choice of restaurant for the large group so thanks to Café Mode for a really great pre-show dining experience!

Cafe Mode was great. Staff were very attentive. 6 of us met for a reunion lunch at 2pm and left at 8pm! Good food and good value for money. We will be back.

Cosy little Italian restaurant, very friendly and accommodating staff. Food was good, the best salad I've had in the UK so far. Value was reasonable given its central London location, convenient location in Covent Garden, close to theatre district. The restaurant has a comedy club downstairs each night. I would definitely go there again.

Overall, an average experience. Staff was friendly. Getting some items was slow, others arrived very quickly. Food was good but not spectacular. Restaurant is a little rundown.
