Reminiscent of a bright French bistro in Provence, Cafe du Soliel brings simple authentic French fare and fine wine to New York City.
Served inside the bistro or out on the inviting terrace on warm summer days, the menu at Cafe du Soleil includes many bistro classics such as Moules Marinieres and Provencales, both served with the bistro's famous Garlic French Fries. One of Cafe du Soleil's signature dishes is St. Jacques Cafe du Soleil, which pairs seared sea scallops with potato brandade and truffle vinaigrette.
Among the appetisers, the Escargots in a Pastics garlic herb sauce, and the Wild Mushroom Ragout are popular favourites. The winter menu features hearty dishes like Coq au Vin and Bceuf Bourguignon, as well as Rack of Lamb with a Nicoise ratatouille, Roast Chicken with a Ramesco sauce, and whole roasted Daurade flown in from the Mediterranean. The signature dessert is the Cocoa Vin. This dessert (a pun on the classic Coq au Vin) is a warm chocolate soufflé cake with an orange wine sauce.
