Part of a small chain of Belgian inspired bistros, owner Gary is half Flemish, Café Belge is set in Battle's historic High Street. Its vaulted cream interior with reclaimed stained glass is the perfect setting for tucking into their "50 Ways to Eat a Mussel" with 50 sauces to choose from. Accompany this with one of their 50 or so Belgian brews ranging from dark to light and fruity. There's a good range of starters such as the house specialty Belgian Shrimp Croquettes. Mains range from Wild Boar and Belgian Beer Sausages to a Brie and Mushroom Crepe. Their Pik n Mix Lunctime Menu offers 30 different tapas style Belgian tasters. Leave room for a Dame Blanche a wicked concoction of vanilla ice cream, Chantilly cream and hot chocolate sauce!
