Restaurant description

Cabana brings Brazilian street food to central London. A buzzy West End retreat, the eclectic menu is served in a bright, laidback dining room, with outdoor seating available in warmer weather.

Designed for sharing, the Cabana menu offers a range of flavour-packed snacks and larger dishes. Tuck into cheesy dough balls with garlic butter, salt cod fritters with lime mayo, or chargrilled halloumi with guava dip. Mains with a kick include flame-grilled skewers, a stack of ribs, and slow-cooked pork and beef burrito with a black bean stew.

Indulgent desserts round off the menu at Cabana Covent Garden. Savour churros with hot chocolate, doughnuts stuffed with Nutella, or the Brazilian overload sundae, packed with caramel chocolate chip and white chocolate ice creams, chocolate truffles and caramel sauce.

Although we felt there were limited Gluten Free options, the dishes on offer were delicious and plentiful. The dough balls were better than any we have had (including before having to exclude gluten from our diets 4 years ago!) Looking forward to visiting again.

The service was really poor, no-one came to take our drinks order so we had to order them when the food order was being taken. We then waited an hour for the food. The draught beer pump was working either :-(

I had the salmon it was undercooked and nearly cold.My wife’s meal was ok. The toilets were out of order and had to use the disabled toilet with an old ladder by the door, if you were disabled there was no clear path to the toilet as the walkway was full of bins and boxes.

Nice atmosphere and quite kind staff, however very disorganised and very hard to get their attention. Also, after finishing our meals, we had random meals come to our table 3 times which we had to repeatedly send back. We were also billed for 4 random items in the end and luckily we noticed before paying. Nice people, however, they need to be abit more attentive and organised.

My partner and I were so hopeful for this restaurant. We arrive at 8pm as per our booking to only find 3 tables taken on a Saturday night, in hindsight this should have told us something. From the start it was very clear the staff and kitchen wanted to go home and get us out ASAP. Starters came out quickly and were tasty, however 2 minutes into enjoying them they tried to deliver our mains. We kindly explained we were only just given our starters and they returned to the kitchen. 2 minutes later they return with the same food, we were still half way through starters! We just finish and they try to deliver the same food that has now been carried around the restaurant, to the table next to us. When they cleared starters I clearly explained I did not want the food that had now been sat there for 10 minutes, a waitress comes back immediately and asks if we are ready. Again we explained we wanted freshly cooked food. When it arrived it was mediocre, rice was bland and dough balls near raw in the middle. They even put our food onto the table next doors bill! To add to it, the toilets that are downstairs were half blocked off by wet floor signs and 2 chairs barring the top, the overhead light didn’t work. Not once did we receive an apology once....shocking service
