Right next to the famous Nottingham Racecourse, Byron's Brasserie at Colwick Hall is an elegant space that was the ancestral home of Lord Byron. As well as seasonal recipes and classic Sunday roasts, there are signature afternoon teas, filled with handmade sweet treats, or just pop in for some light bites and a glass of wine after a race day.

The Byron's Brasserie menu features a great selection of seasonal British recipes, along with gourmet continental dishes too. Start off with pan-roasted king scallop with pressed pork belly, pea soup and crispy crackling, while mains include elegant game dishes such as roulade of guinea fowl stuffed with wild mushroom mousse and mushroom risotto. Diners can also choose from a menu of lighter, more casual dishes, including tomato and basil linguine, or succulent sirloin steak.

Afternoon teas at Byron's Brasserie in Nottingham are a wonderfully indulgent affair, with themed variations frequently created. Expect a great selection of cakes and pastries alongside loose leaf teas, while the wine list features premium bottles of sparking too.

Perfect for elegant meals before or after the races, Byron's Brasserie at Colwick Hall is a 7-minute drive from Nottingham Rail Station.

The meal at Byrons was superb, the staff were knowlegable and helpful, the food was delicious and the room had been decorated for Easter afternoon teas so was fun. We had the chef's recommendation of steak which was perfect, the starters were unusual and delicious and the desserts almost too pretty to eat. Service was discrete but attentive. We enjoyed the whole experience.

An excellent afternoon tea. But very disappointed that we had to wait an hour after booking time to be served with our meal. Had to really rush the experience as my daughter had to get a train home. The staff were very friendly but there were only 2 staff serving and the restaurant was busy.

We were thrilled to be given a Grand Afternoon Tea as a gift, and it really lived up to expectations! There was so much utterly delicious food we really needed the helpfully offered take away boxes. All the food was beautifully presented, and utterly delicious. An afternoon tea at Colwick Hall is an experience - from the teeny tasteful soup and hot pastries to the precision cut sandwiches with delicious fillings followed by utterly mouthwatering cakes. The staff were friendly and considerate. The surroundings are delightful, atmosphere conducive to a relaxed time. Couldn't recommend it highly enough.
