Byron brings proper hamburgers to the heart of York. With light flooding in from floor-to-ceiling windows, colourful leather seating and exposed brick walls make for a bright, contemporary space.
The Byron menu is made up of proper burgers, with something for meat lovers, vegetarians and vegans alike. Made from 100% British grass-fed beef, patties are crafted with a unique blend of chuck, brisket and rib-cap, cooked medium so they’re pink and juicy, and served up in a squishy bun with fries or a house salad. Plus a cheeky pickle on the side. Favourites include the signature Byron and the vegan Beetnik burger.
Byron also offers a ‘Mini Byron’ kids menu, plus vegetarian and vegan options and fresh, vibrant salads. Round things off properly with fries, sides, own-recipe milkshakes, specially-selected craft beers and homemade desserts.
A family-friendly restaurant, find Byron a 12-minute walk from York Rail Station.

Second time we’ve eaten here in the last few weeks. The food is absolutely delicious both for vegans and non vegans. I would definitely return.

Was a lovely meal and great service although I sent the onion rings back as they were cold and stodgy but in return I got a very crispy and delicious one back service was excellent and I would definitely recommend and we will be returning asap

Service was great and the food was delicious.

The food was delivered promptly and the atmosphere was nice however, my partner had the clunky chicken burger which the presentation was excellent & salad was fresh but the southern fried chicken was burnt on the outside leaving a taste not to be desired. I on the other hand had a beef specialty burger with beef brisket. The presentation was excellent and the burger itself held together really well. Would have the same again if I was to revisit. I found the price of the burgers at £15 per head to be quite expensive for what they were however, the salad was fresh on both and maybe the burnt chicken burger for my partner has influenced this decision. The staff were friendly and polite and the restaurant was clean.

We were getting together for a 3 generation family get together and chose Byron as we visit the Newcastle branch and know the food is good. We needed a wheelchair accessible place. Turned out to be an excellent choice. Friendly and efficient service and great food as ever. A new experience for my 80 something in-laws. They loved it.

Yummy burger and fries. Lots of delicious things to choose including gorgeous side dishes. The bun was brioche so seemed a bit special. The onion rings were greasy and bland but our lovely waitress took the price off the bill.
