Restaurant description

A sprawling restaurant in a charming area of London, Byron Greenwich serves signature hamburgers. The eclectic interior features a checkerboard floor, rustic exposed brickwork and diner-style leather booths, with Thames-side outdoor dining offered on warmer days.

The Byron menu is made up of proper burgers, with something for meat lovers, vegetarians and vegans alike. Made from 100% British grass-fed beef, patties are crafted with a unique blend of chuck, brisket and rib-cap, cooked medium so they’re pink and juicy, and served up in a squishy bun with fries or a house salad. Plus a cheeky pickle on the side. Favourites include the signature Byron and the vegan Beetnik burger.

Byron also offers a ‘Mini Byron’ kids menu, plus vegetarian and vegan options and fresh, vibrant salads. Round things off properly with fries, sides, own-recipe milkshakes, specially-selected craft beers and homemade desserts

A much-loved family favourite, Byron in Greenwich is just 3 minutes’ walk from Cutty Sark Tube Station.

We booked a table and were taken to it on arrival and handed menus. After 10 minutes we were invited to order drinks and we also ordered our food at the same time. The drinks were not all available but a replacement found at the same price. When the bill arrived it was at a higher price. The food took over 40 minutes to arrive from ordering and the starter was forgotten about until we asked for it. The order that arrived was wrong with one of the burgers incorrect. We asked for the correct one and this arrived after 5-10 minutes but had avocado that was heated or microwaved to make it tender as it wasn't ripe. We asked to change the avocado and were then given hard/unripe avocado that we could not eat. The burgers themselves and the milkshake one person had were good. At no point was any apology offered or a manager sent to discuss anything with us and I was glad to leave but did not leave any tip due to the very poor performance overall. It was a bank holiday and they could not cope with the numbers allowed on site but clearly wanted to put profit over quality of food and service - very disappointing.

Great burgers and very pleasant staff. However, the furniture - tables and chairs are of poor quality. The drafts of freezing air from the entrance (whenever the door opens) are so bad that even the extra heating could not compensare for it. Make sure you are not sat next to the door!

Fabulous, very cosy, true american diner style, super staff, very friendly and food was well worth the little wait, burger looked and tasted marvellous, as was the generous cobb salad. Theres a gorgeous room upstairs with a bar overlooking the river where you can book a table.

Great burgers and good value for money. Some trouble getting the waitress to acknowledge the deal we had booked.

Food was delicious, the weather was gorgeous and dining on the roof terrace left us with that holiday feeling. The staff were most welcoming and hospitable. The restaurant was certainly busy as it was Father's Day and were very kind to offer apologies that the food took some time to arrive, but we were enjoying the views of the River Thames stretching out towards London and each other's company so this was not an issue. Thank you for making my Father's Day planning go down a treat!

Friendly, engaging, efficient and accurate customer service on offer at all times from all staff - cannot be faulted in this area. High quality food too - the skin on chips are delicious, and there's an excellent range of burgers with imaginative fillings.
