Restaurant description

Inspired by the rustic dishes and bold flavours of the Mediterranean, Burley Manor and its wood-fired kitchen produce food that is from the heart, to be enjoyed together in relaxed, spectacular surroundings.

Advocates of the slow food movement, time is spent finding the finest produce from as close to the restaurant as possible. Making the most of its New Forest location, ingredients on the Burley Manor menu are sourced from forest to coast using the unrivalled choice of local suppliers, before the traditional wood-fired oven brings out the best in them.

Guests can also enjoy a unique, tailored Mediterranean feast on the chef’s table in the Butler’s Pantry whilst watching their dishes cooking in the wood-fired oven. Chat away with the chefs, enjoy a glass of champagne and sample an array of different dishes from the region of your choice as they come straight from oven to table. Served in the cosy pantry with 2 bench seat, the price includes a bottle of champagne for the table, and a 3-course regional Mediterranean feast for between 6 and 8 people.

Situated in the heart of the New Forest, Burley Manor in Hampshire is just 12 minutes’ drive from Ringwood.

A set lunch menu with enough choice for the vegetarian with us. Food beautifully presented, tasty and enough of it. Belly of Pork with veg, lovely, as was the Plaice. Desserts looked appetising and would recommend the semolina cake with home made honey comb. Very relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant and not rushed at all. Timing of serving was good. Service very friendly and attentive. We also enjoyed a good bottle of Prosecco.

Great experience. Wonderful food , tapas starters are varied and delicious and fish of the day was sublime. All washed down with a bottle of English wine whilst looking out over the gardens. Can’t ask for much more really.

Treated friends to afternoon tea. Served in the lounge. Very relaxing except for the fire alarm and food was delicious. We would certainly do it again.

Beautiful location. Got there early as very rainy day. Guy in the bar was outstanding. Very friendly and efficient. We sat in the drawing room for our afternoon tea which again was beautiful but very cold! Food was nice. Felt some (posset and tartlet) weren’t really set properly. Young girl who served us didn’t take any pots away so we ended up with a table full of cups, tea pots etc. All in all compared to some a nice afternoon tea but with a few tweeks could be a great cream tea.

A disappointing experience - a beautiful setting and restaurant, but no atmosphere. Cold tapas and very small portions - octopus dish (£8 for 5 tiny pieces!) was stone cold and sent back. The nicest thing I could say is the hummus was very nice...

We have eaten at this restaurant twice in recent months and on both occasions have found the food to have been excellent and the range of dishes, particularly from the vegetarian menu, to be particularly good. However, on both occasions the time that we waited to be served has been poor with little attention to our presence while waiting. We were not offered more drinks after the first order, we would have liked at least to have been offered bread or olives for example, whilst waiting, and we would have welcomed a more personal service.

The food was delicious but we would have preferred a wider range with some more traditional choices. Service very good. The breakfast was truly excellent. The best range I have ever experienced and very pleasant in the sunny conservatory.
