Inspired by the rustic dishes and bold flavours of the Mediterranean, Burley Manor and its wood-fired kitchen produce food that is from the heart, to be enjoyed together in relaxed, spectacular surroundings.
Advocates of the slow food movement, time is spent finding the finest produce from as close to the restaurant as possible. Making the most of its New Forest location, ingredients on the Burley Manor menu are sourced from forest to coast using the unrivalled choice of local suppliers, before the traditional wood-fired oven brings out the best in them.
Guests can also enjoy a unique, tailored Mediterranean feast on the chef’s table in the Butler’s Pantry whilst watching their dishes cooking in the wood-fired oven. Chat away with the chefs, enjoy a glass of champagne and sample an array of different dishes from the region of your choice as they come straight from oven to table. Served in the cosy pantry with 2 bench seat, the price includes a bottle of champagne for the table, and a 3-course regional Mediterranean feast for between 6 and 8 people.
Situated in the heart of the New Forest, Burley Manor in Hampshire is just 12 minutes’ drive from Ringwood.

Nice food / location. A bit on the salty side. Slightly odd service. The main person seemed to know what he was doing but everyone else, whilst polite, didn’t seem to have a clue. Would expect better service. Drinks orders took ages and we’re wrong twice, some of the group were not correctly advised re their side orders and ended up with meat and potatoes with no veg (had they know they would have ordered more) and the wrong dessert menu was provided (which we only discovered when we asked for a candle to be put in one as it was a birthday celebration). They eventually brought a cake with ‘Happy birthday’ but it was all a bit hap hazard. Four polenta chips were serviced which seemed a bit stingy as a side portion. A shame as such a nice location and could be wonderful. Also, no dogs allowed - not even outside - which is a shame for a country hotel. Won’t rush back. Would ask for a spot in the conservatory next time as we were in. A dark interior (of an otherwise empty restaurant).

The sweet treats were lovely (except the vegan scones which need some serious work!), but the overall level of service was poor.
We were crammed onto a tiny table in a very full lounge, despite booking way in advance - the table hardly had space for cups and plates, let alone tea pots and stands. The waiting staff then added side tables so our tea was spread across three little tables. Hardly easy to eat or conducive for a relaxing afternoon! After asking to be moved, we were eventually seated in the bar. Basically, they had overbooked and tried to cram too many bookings in.
After being moved, the general level of service was very poor. We were not asked at all if we wanted any more tea, I had to ask for the bill three times and had to wait over 20 minutes for it - and nobody came to collect payment so I had to hunt down someone so I could pay.
We were also never offered a tea menu or given the option of supplementing the tea with something bubbly (just asked if we wanted tea or coffee) and when I did ask to see the tea menu it was very limited. My tea was one teabag in a large pot with no extra water, so pretty tasteless - I’d expect loose leaf tea at this price - and some of the sandwiches were dry. The vegan tea had some really lovely elements, as did the standard tea, and it could have been gorgeous, but sadly it all ended up being a bit underwhelming and the experience was really let down by some very poor service and staff, who were nice and apologetic but weren’t the most proactive.

We have eaten at this restaurant twice in recent months and on both occasions have found the food to have been excellent and the range of dishes, particularly from the vegetarian menu, to be particularly good. However, on both occasions the time that we waited to be served has been poor with little attention to our presence while waiting. We were not offered more drinks after the first order, we would have liked at least to have been offered bread or olives for example, whilst waiting, and we would have welcomed a more personal service.

The food was delicious but we would have preferred a wider range with some more traditional choices. Service very good.
The breakfast was truly excellent. The best range I have ever experienced and very pleasant in the sunny conservatory.

Amazing afternoon tea! We had an entire lounge to ourselves. Very unhurried afternoon tea, we were left to enjoy the room and the food. Gallon of tea, never seen a teapot so big. The sandwiches, scones and cakes were amazing. After we had finished we sat out the front in the sun watching the herd of deer that live on the front lawn. Staff were lovely. Can’t wait to visit again

Lunch for three on bank holiday Monday expecting the restaurant to be pretty busy. It was very quiet. Nvertheless we had a very good lunch, despite a few dishes on the menu not available due we understand to Sunday being particularly busy! We were also not able to have the wine we requested due to the same problem. However our waitress Robin was charming, knowledgeable and eloquent about the various dishes available. Starters excellent except for paprika oil no real flavour, olive oil very tasty. Mains Cod with chorizo excellent so tasty, sirloin steak cooked perfectly. Trout a little overcooked and the accompaning veg not great. Main veg courgette strings superb, pots very good, samphire excellent - what a pity it is such a short season! Dessert - hot raspberry soufflé to die for??
We have not been to eat at Burley for a long time but will certainly be back. Many thanks
