We had a very enjoyable 3 course lunch in the conservatory with stunning views including deer and pigs. We also enjoyed some extremely nice free flowing prosecco! This was all served by Rene who made our afternoon perfect. We will definitely be returning.

Inspired by the rustic dishes and bold flavours of the Mediterranean, Burley Manor and its wood-fired kitchen produce food that is from the heart, to be enjoyed together in relaxed, spectacular surroundings.

Advocates of the slow food movement, time is spent finding the finest produce from as close to the restaurant as possible. Making the most of its New Forest location, ingredients on the Burley Manor menu are sourced from forest to coast using the unrivalled choice of local suppliers, before the traditional wood-fired oven brings out the best in them.

Guests can also enjoy a unique, tailored Mediterranean feast on the chef’s table in the Butler’s Pantry whilst watching their dishes cooking in the wood-fired oven. Chat away with the chefs, enjoy a glass of champagne and sample an array of different dishes from the region of your choice as they come straight from oven to table. Served in the cosy pantry with 2 bench seat, the price includes a bottle of champagne for the table, and a 3-course regional Mediterranean feast for between 6 and 8 people.

Situated in the heart of the New Forest, Burley Manor in Hampshire is just 12 minutes’ drive from Ringwood.

The food was lovely but the service wasn’t great in the evening. Breakfast service was better.

It was disappointing that many items on the menu were not available but we were told that a large party had pre-ordered and hence the lack of availability.
This left limited choice and as this was a birthday treat it was very unfortunate.

Although we'd read the negative comments on the reviews from previous diners regarding service, we thought we'd 'give it a go'.
The setting is fantastic - the hotel and restaurant were very impressive (especially the conservatory) and the views across a field containing many red deer was brilliant.
After finding the 'meeter and greeter' in the restaurant who had been hiding away in the kitchen, she told us that we had the pick of the tables as we were the only ones booked in for that lunchtime. We picked a corner table in the conservatory with the views across the countryside. She was very friendly and gave us the selection of menus available plus the wine list. We didn't have a starter but the freshly cut bread and different olive oils were more than enough and, together with the wine, was a good beginning to the meal. We chose a sharing plate of Moroccan Lamb and a couple of 'sides' which proved to be an excellent and delicious choice. We finished a meal with a smile on our faces.
    Then it all fell apart.
After 20 minutes of finishing our main course, we had to go and find someone to give us a dessert menu but then after yet another 15/20 minutes wait, we decided that we'd gone off having a dessert so got up from the table and found the waitress to ask for the bill. We also told them the reason was due to such a long wait that our appetite had gone and asked why they had concentrated on folding napkins for future diners rather than looking after the people (just the two of us) in the restaurant. The only response was 'sorry'.
We left feeling deflated because what could have been an exceptional lunchtime experience turned into a total disappointment.

Afternoon tea at Burley Manor was a truely wonderful experience. The venue was beautifully decorated and both the beverages and the food were exceptional. There were five of us and a dog and we were made to feel welcome throughout our visit, not always the case when you have a dog. The reason we booked an afternoon tea was that it was on my Mother-in-laws wish list,so whilst we were all on holiday in the area it was an ideal time and place to grant this wish. She absolutely loved the decor, and was telling us all her favorite items in the room, even asking us to take photographs of it all so she could tell everyone about the experience later. The sofas and chairs were very comfortable and the room just warm enough to be cosy but not too hot. We all loved the choice of tea and the fact that the two non tea drinkers could have coffee. When the food arrived and was explained to us I think we were all a bit in awe of firstly, the amount and of the selection. Everybody had different favourites but personally mine was the coffee and pecan cake, but we all agreed that the savoury scones were the most delicious we had ever tasted. Having eaten most of it, although it did take us over an hour, we all agreed that I had made the right decision in choosing Burley Manor. It was a marvellous experience for all the family. I would like to thank everyone who made this such a wonderful experience for us all but especilly for my Mother-in-law who has had a really tough year.

We ate here on two nights of our five night stay. Service on the first night was slow to start but very much impproved by the second night. My husband had brisket of beef which he found salty but tasty. The courgette side was also very salty. On the second occasion I had pork cheeks which I could not eat as the sauce was so salty. The New Forest strawberries with pannacotta was served as one strawberry sliced in a very sweet sauce. Everything else was excellent. I only mention the saltiness as I would expect perfection for the prices charged.
In contrast the breakfasts we had on each of the five days were superb. Plenty of choice and freshly cooked. Service was steady but ambience and staff attention excellent. No complaints at all and would heartily recommend.

Good, we asked a lot of questions before ordering so we knew what we were getting. I wish the waitress had told us the specials though, we heard a different one tell another table that there was a salmon special, I would have gotten that instead. We enjoyed the different oils with the delicious bread. Our favorite was dessert, the rhubarb and ginger cake tasted like fall. Great atmosphere!
