Restaurant description

Winning praise from renowned restaurant critic Jay Rayner, Bundobust Manchester is a funky, modern basement setting on Piccadilly for creative Indian street food. With a communal ambience and a great selection of craft beers from local and international brewery, this is a great choice for diners looking for a new take on Indian dining.

Exotic Gujarat-inspired street food goes into the colourful Bundobust Manchester menu, served in small portions, perfect for sharing. Okra fries go perfectly with the beers on offer, and come seasoned with black salt and mango powder, while North England influences can be found in dishes like the spicy mushy pea and potato cakes. There are traditional curries and signature bhajis which are vegetarian and gluten-free, with a selection of sides like rice and breads also available.

A packed beer menu at Bundobust in Manchester features craft brews from the local area and further afield. Indian-inspired cocktails are made with creative blends of exotic infusions, while for dessert there is Indian ice cream.

An exciting addition to the city’s dining scene, Bundobust Manchester is just a 4-minute walk from Manchester Piccadilly Rail Station.

Nice service and we got the table we asked for. Favourite dishes: paneer tikka, bundo chaat and okra fries and I had lovely chai tea on oat milk. Really enjoyed it

Bundobust fantastic as always! Faves are the Vada Pav and Bundo Chaat, but could literally eat anything on the menu. Beer selection brilliant as always, although I'm always tempted by the Bombay Dazzler

It was very busy on a Friday night - we had a table reserved for 4 people. We ordered a vegan combo for 2 and a couple of other dishes between us. The paneer khadai was delicious as were the massala dhosa and the bel puri. Kale pakoras were very solid and dry, and the soup that came with the dhosa was weird tasting and very hot. It was an interesting selection. There was a lot of choice on the menu and having had a small selection I would go back and have certain dishes again, and not choose others.
