Restaurant description

Inspired by the 1994 smash-hit film Forrest Gump, Bubba Gump serves up a menu devoted to shrimp. This favourite American restaurant group brings its first site to the UK, which sits amidst the bustle of Piccadilly Circus.

Alongside the super-fresh, sustainably-sourced shrimp dishes, the Bubba Gump menu is filled with home-cooked Alabama-style main courses. Favourites include ‘dumb luck’ coconut shrimp with Cajun marmalade, fries and coleslaw, or mama’s southern-fried chicken with bourbon gravy. Extravagant yet homely desserts include key lime pie or the ‘best of the best’ sampler for a little taste of everything, while tropical-style cocktails are served in souvenir glasses.

The colourful dining room features rustic, seafood shack-style décor, and the walls are plastered with memorabilia from the film. Bubba Gump in London also serves a special under-10s menu, filled with Forrest Gump-themed main courses, and build-your-own sundaes.

Found within London’s bustling Trocadero Bubba Gump restaurant in Piccadilly Circus sits directly next door to the tube station.

Booked 2hrs before, got a table which was nice and easy. The service was quick and efficient and the food was good. Quite expensive but as the quality was good, we didn’t mind paying. Plus it’s a London restaurant and kind of expect prices to be higher. Happy to pay the 12.5% optional service charge.

Went Saturday 11 / 1 /20 for the wife's birthday with friends. No problems. food lovely and a great place to eat, the Mrs love's Forrest Gump so loved looking at all the memorabilia. Not being a fish eater chose the burger, but seeing the rack of ribs walk past i know exactly what to order next time! they looked banging. Mate said they were best shrimps he has ever ate in England. Wife was happy so all round a good time

I booked a table at the resturant to celebrate my 40th birthday and was disappointed by the reception that we recieved. Very little to no interaction from the team or our waitress, didnt even mention or make any effort to wish a happy birthday. Nothing special made of a the occasion even though it was mentioned in the booking!. At one point a group of 3/4 team members were standing back chatting in an area that looked like a cleaning area where the a sign said "garage". Considering the restaurant wasnt busy I felt that the experience was disappointing. Maybe we were spoilt by visiting bubbagumps in America it was a fantastic experience so we thought it would be very similar. Sorry to say but sadly not. I wouldn't recommend to friends and family to choose this as a place for a special occasion.

The waiters were extremely helpful and were very eager to help us. We had never been to the restaurant before and made it very welcoming and easy to understand.

Unreal experience. Food was incredible, cocktails were gorgeous and the decor of the restaurant was the cherry on top for my boyfriend who is a big Forrest Gump fan! The surf and turf was delightful- cooked to perfection and would highly recommend! Portion sizes are quite large, however it fully satisfied my empty stomach. Will definitely be returning very soon.

The restaurant looked good although the toilets look a little tired. Food was excellent, booking experience was good and so was the efficiency of service. Having been to your restaurants in the US we felt that this one lacks atmosphere and energy from your staff. No little jokes or chats with the waiting staff or seeing them do high fives or looking happy to be there. Its a shame because the concept is lost on them.
