Set within one of London’s most famous buildings, Bryn Williams at Somerset House offers modern British dining, serving seasonal dishes where the fruit and vegetable components take centre stage. With a relaxed and contemporary environment, Somerset House’s creative community is at the restaurant’s core – reflected through the food, service and design.
The menu has a strong focus on sustainability, seasonality and provenance. Seasonal mains include roast young broccoli with olive tapenade and sage beignet, and scorched Cornish mackerel with char-grilled leeks, Burke Brown egg and morel mushroom. Continuing the veg-centric theme, a range of salads are also offered, as well as signature, fruit-heavy desserts such as poached rhubarb and blood orange trifle.
The restaurant is Williams’ second London opening, adding to a portfolio that includes Odette’s in Primrose Hill, where he has held the position of chef patron since 2008.
A stone’s throw from the theatres of London’s Aldwych, find Bryn Williams at Somerset House a 4-minute walk from Temple Tube Station.
On Sundays the restaurant is available for private hire.

It was good value for 3 course £29 which is a good deal from Bookatable. The food was good. Personally, don’t feel the atmosphere was for a comfortable dinner . The tables were more like for tea time. Would recommend for lunch more.

Enjoyable evening overall. Interesting setting. Starters probably had the edge, particularly the vegetable tart. Lamb rump was nice, but fat could have been rendered a bit more. Lemon sole was a nice piece of fish, though the accompaniments did not seem to contribute as much as they might. Some nice wines and helpful service.

Nice welcoming young staff, on a fairly quiet Saturday night. We had the three course menu, and food was all fresh and tasty. Salmon entree, vegetable risotto and confit chicken mains, cheese and panacotta desserts. Wine by the glass - prosecco, intimo tinto from Argentina, Spanish rose, all very tasty (although the red tinto was served at room temperature which was just a little too hot for this summer's evening). Nice setting, and on a fun but crazy day (Pride Parade in London!) it was good to find some calm in the evening. We found the menu very good value for money.

Disappointed. Lovely staff but service very slow and distracted and not much knowledge about the menu at all. Food was ok but hard to enjoy it as the space was boiling hot and stuffy so we didn’t stay long.

Service remains erratic and sometimes borders on the thoughless; but is always good natured which makes up for a lot.
