Great setting, decour and seating arrangements. Really helpful staff too. A bit too much interruption from the corridor that runs along the restaurant though. Pork belly and Hake were big hits although the crab/watermelon starter failed to hit the spot.

Set within one of London’s most famous buildings, Bryn Williams at Somerset House offers modern British dining, serving seasonal dishes where the fruit and vegetable components take centre stage. With a relaxed and contemporary environment, Somerset House’s creative community is at the restaurant’s core – reflected through the food, service and design.

The menu has a strong focus on sustainability, seasonality and provenance. Seasonal mains include roast young broccoli with olive tapenade and sage beignet, and scorched Cornish mackerel with char-grilled leeks, Burke Brown egg and morel mushroom. Continuing the veg-centric theme, a range of salads are also offered, as well as signature, fruit-heavy desserts such as poached rhubarb and blood orange trifle.

The restaurant is Williams’ second London opening, adding to a portfolio that includes Odette’s in Primrose Hill, where he has held the position of chef patron since 2008.

A stone’s throw from the theatres of London’s Aldwych, find Bryn Williams at Somerset House a 4-minute walk from Temple Tube Station.

Good food. Excellent service. Great value. Disappointing ambience as too few lunchtime diners.

Greeted by very friendly and professional staff. The special offer three course lunch had three options each and we tasted six of these. Cauliflower soup was unusual and very tasty, and the cured bright red salmon was excellent. Baked cod was superbly cooked and the chicken confit was exceptional. Panna cotta and the deliciously moist carrot loaf made a fine conclusion to this splendid meal. We were unhesitatingly given non-alcoholic cocktails in preference to the standard prosecco offered in the special deal, and the service throughout was meticulous and friendly. Having visited Odette's in Primrose Hill in the distant past it is good to see Bryn Williams providing superb fare in Central London. Will certainly return here.

Delicious lunch with wonderful flavours. Ricotta and Beetroot relish particularly good. I found 6 bones in my piece of cod which was annoying and the kale crisps were very greasy but the Bay Leaf Panna Cotta was wonderful.

Had a fabulous dinner here on Saturday. Beautifully and imaginative food - especially the starters - we had the asparagus and the chicory. The chicory in particular was so unexpected - not bitter, it was charred and sweet, and served with smoked ricotta, onions and orange segments. So lovely. My fish main course was also lovely. Desserts also lovely. Great service, lovely location and decor, only small down side was that it wasn't very busy. So I suggest if more people go, it'll be even better!

Great dining experience! Lovely food, great ambiance/surroundings - had lovely catch up with friends and delicious, top quality munchies! Great value for money - would go again!

Menu was a bit short on choice, Cod was good, clearly the better choice, chicken no so much.

The food was fabulous, from salmon starters to chocolate pave dessert. Staff were (mostly) welcoming and attentive. Could be a great restaraunt for a cosy, relaxed dinner if the lighting was better but not a great place for summer dining especially as the the lights were full on and pumping out heat!
