Set within one of London’s most famous buildings, Bryn Williams at Somerset House offers modern British dining, serving seasonal dishes where the fruit and vegetable components take centre stage. With a relaxed and contemporary environment, Somerset House’s creative community is at the restaurant’s core – reflected through the food, service and design.
The menu has a strong focus on sustainability, seasonality and provenance. Seasonal mains include roast young broccoli with olive tapenade and sage beignet, and scorched Cornish mackerel with char-grilled leeks, Burke Brown egg and morel mushroom. Continuing the veg-centric theme, a range of salads are also offered, as well as signature, fruit-heavy desserts such as poached rhubarb and blood orange trifle.
The restaurant is Williams’ second London opening, adding to a portfolio that includes Odette’s in Primrose Hill, where he has held the position of chef patron since 2008.
A stone’s throw from the theatres of London’s Aldwych, find Bryn Williams at Somerset House a 4-minute walk from Temple Tube Station.
On Sundays the restaurant is available for private hire.

Quality of food was great. The Sea Trout was delicious but there was a distinct difference in portion size as my friend and I had the same. One of us felt slightly short changed! The Panna Cotta was the best we’ve ever tasted so full marks. The signature bara breith was dry as if it had been sitting out for too long before serving. Service could have been better, once we’d given our order we had to wait 30 mins for our starter. Not the best experience unfortunately

The food was well-cooked and tasty and the staff was lovely as always.
However, the "freshly squeezed" orange juice tasted suspiciously like it came out of a bottle and my coffee was like a watered down substandard version of a latte. -

First of all the hostess was SOO lovely! Welcoming friendly and sweet - a credit to the restaurant!
Secondly the ambience and interior were beautiful - the deep oak colours and booths - love this comfy vibe!
Thirdly (& nearly most importantly!) the food was sooo delicious. The starter of the summer tart was so good, the main cauliflower steak with side of polenta was lovely, triple cooked side (I could have had one all to myself!) and desert was the perfect combination of sweet!
Overall lovely, unpretentious, attentive, laid back vibe - thank you :-) -

My friend and I enjoyed a lovely lunch here on Friday, and also the warm welcome from staff accompanied by a glass of chilled prosecco. I very much appreciated the delicious gazpacho - a perfectly refreshing starter on a very hot day in the city; the summer vegetable risotto was light, beautifully seasoned and tasty and the vanilla panacotta, delicately adorned with summer fruits, was very good. We thought the fixed price menu was exceptional value. In addition to the delicious food, what I found most pleasing was the exceptional customer service which is sadly lacking in many establishments these days. Will definitely return and highly recommend.

Good food and great location but turned out very expensive even for central London - not good value, unfortunately.
