Incredibly good food. Disappointing that the set menu was only for meat eaters and they offered no veggie or fish substitute.

Set within one of London’s most famous buildings, Bryn Williams at Somerset House offers modern British dining, serving seasonal dishes where the fruit and vegetable components take centre stage. With a relaxed and contemporary environment, Somerset House’s creative community is at the restaurant’s core – reflected through the food, service and design.

The menu has a strong focus on sustainability, seasonality and provenance. Seasonal mains include roast young broccoli with olive tapenade and sage beignet, and scorched Cornish mackerel with char-grilled leeks, Burke Brown egg and morel mushroom. Continuing the veg-centric theme, a range of salads are also offered, as well as signature, fruit-heavy desserts such as poached rhubarb and blood orange trifle.

The restaurant is Williams’ second London opening, adding to a portfolio that includes Odette’s in Primrose Hill, where he has held the position of chef patron since 2008.

A stone’s throw from the theatres of London’s Aldwych, find Bryn Williams at Somerset House a 4-minute walk from Temple Tube Station.

I was disappointed with the menu choice on the day. I booked on line (bookatable and was given 2 choices) when I was there we were told there was only the brunch menu. We were given a lovely window table. Service was friendly and efficient.
The quality of the food was excellent and I look forward to going back. I would suggest checking menu beforehand?

Portions the correct size for us and food was excellent for all three guests, each of whom had different choices. In terms of consistency, creativity and quality, the best vegetables that we have had anywhere

Really disappointing. The staff were lovely, so this feedback has nothing to do with them.
    There was zero atmosphere.
The food, whilst I recognise it was a star deal, was absolutely minuscule. I have done many other star deals before, they have all been brilliant and very generous. My starter however was two tiny pieces of salmon, 1 bite each, equivalent to one piece of sushi cut in half. We both had fish as a main, this came with two tiny spoons of COLD sweet potato mash, the smallest piece of fish I've ever seen and a single crispy bit of kale. Pudding was the biggest dish of all, but lacked flavour. It really wouldn't have cost them much more to be more generous.
We ordered an extra glass of prosecco each, the bill came to £80.
For the tiny amount of food this seems very steep!
I would never go there again, definitely not a 'star deal'. We left hungry and disappointed!

Disappointing. Wrong drink given in the bar. Also drinks that the barman told me were £9 came up as £10 onthe bill. The main course was the size of a starter. One jersey potato sliced with 3 pieces of chicken the size of a thumbnail. I therefore didn't think it deserved the full discretionary service charge of over £20. I thought £17 was more than enough. The waitress came and told me I hadn't paid enough. X

Second time visiting Bryn Williams. Wonderful place with lovely decor - friendly staff and great food. The confit chicken was very taste and the carrot loaf was to die for. They also have several options for vegans.
P.S You must to try the soda bread.

Poor: No view of the Thames due to another bar on the concourse. Booking not confirmed- I had to ring them. Portions very small. Unimaginative. We felt that we were on the cheap deal and not enjoying a taste of the proper menu. Staff tried hard but rather soulless experience and wouldn’t recommend or return.

The food wade nice but it’s a rip off, the quantities are ridiculously small, the worst being the cod filet, it was propably less than 50g - it would not suffise to feed 5 year old
