Fabulous range of flavours in the food. My personal favourite is the cauliflower steak. Food is so good you don't notice the wonderful view. The dining areas are intimate but not formal. Great place for small groups too.

Set within one of London’s most famous buildings, Bryn Williams at Somerset House offers modern British dining, serving seasonal dishes where the fruit and vegetable components take centre stage. With a relaxed and contemporary environment, Somerset House’s creative community is at the restaurant’s core – reflected through the food, service and design.

The menu has a strong focus on sustainability, seasonality and provenance. Seasonal mains include roast young broccoli with olive tapenade and sage beignet, and scorched Cornish mackerel with char-grilled leeks, Burke Brown egg and morel mushroom. Continuing the veg-centric theme, a range of salads are also offered, as well as signature, fruit-heavy desserts such as poached rhubarb and blood orange trifle.

The restaurant is Williams’ second London opening, adding to a portfolio that includes Odette’s in Primrose Hill, where he has held the position of chef patron since 2008.

A stone’s throw from the theatres of London’s Aldwych, find Bryn Williams at Somerset House a 4-minute walk from Temple Tube Station.

On Sundays the restaurants is available for private hire.

The space is lovely, the service was exceptional and the food was creative and good. We were going to the theatre and the service went out of their way to not hurry us, but to ensure that we made it out on time. And the view is outstanding!

Mixed views about our dining experience.
A: The 4 of us at the table chose lamb for the main course only to be told there was no lamb. We were given more time to select something else so when a different waitress returned and we asked why there was no lamb she explained that someone had forgotten to put the lamb on to slow cook!!! However, she did offer beef as an alternative which the first waitress hadn't. They didn't seem to know the menu at all.

B: Dessert!! Two of us chose the Bara Brith with cheese, because we are Welsh, as is Bryn Williams, and were curious to find out if his recipie was as good as ours. NO IT WASN'T. I have never had Bara Brith like that. My family recipie soaks the fruit in tea which makes a very tasty moist Bara brith. The pieces we had were white with hardly any fruit, quite tasteless and had probably dried out through being toasted. Most disappointing.

Nice setting, lovely choice menu, pork and sea bream cooked perfectly

    Lovely location
We went a la Carte rather than the set menu.
The courgette flower starter was disappointing. Too sweet and tasting of tomato.
Mains. I had the sea bream which was good. My friend had the slow cooked lamb which she said was ok. Desert was fine. Nothing exceptional.
Overall a nice place. Service good.

Lovely space, felt very cosy, yet elegant. Very nice waiting staff, attentive without being too formal.
The food was delicious; I’d particularly recommend the starter of Mushroom Soup with slow cooked egg, and the lemon posset dessert with lavender ice cream and meringue.
