Restaurant description

With spectacular views of historic Windsor Castle and the River Thames Browns Windsor offers a refined yet relaxed dining spot, at any time of the day. Blending European brasserie dishes and timelessly elegant surroundings, Browns Bar and Brasserie Windsor champions an informal yet refined concept. The spacious brasserie boasts a mezzanine and an outdoor balcony for al fresco dining.

Spanning from breakfast through to lunch and dinner, the Browns menu offers all-day brasserie dining. Indulgent plats du jour and Sunday roasts are staple favourites, while sumptuous flavours include roasted lamb with potatoes & minted peas, Browns’ signature fish pie, and decadent salted caramel profiteroles. A sophisticated children’s menu at Browns offers tempting favourites with a grown-up twist.

Showcasing a penchant for cocktails, the Browns bar offers an array of classic mixes, signature concoctions and thirst-quenching mocktails, as well as fine world wines, and smoothies. Enjoy Browns’ afternoon tea and cake accompanied freshly-roasted coffee from an independent supplier, or a warming pot of loose leaf tea.

Food was amazing, unfortunately, experience was not. Due to the lockdown they were rushing a bit and they didn’t tell us that we couldn’t order dessert. My son is autistic and his expectations are very high. With no warning they told us that we were late to order the last dish and my son was very upset. There was an announcement about ordering last drinks but nothing about food. This kind of ruined our outing. They should have made it clear from the beginning that we need to order quick. Food is not cheap and for that price people are not only seeking good food but also for a great experience.

We were given a quiet table by the window - lovely food and good service.

The location is beautiful in Windsor. The staff are very helpful and always greeted with a smile. The views from the 1st floor are stunning.

Bread was expensive (£4 add-on to bill) and pricey. Butter was flavourless. Risotto was oily. Otherwise, OK.

Took my mum for a birthday afternoon tea - the whole experience was very good. We turned up about 40 minutes early due to the rain cutting our walk short and despite being busy they sat us down straight away. We had the champagne afternoon tea and the duck parfait started. The food was amazing! Service was very good too. Thanks!
