This is a well-located restaurant - especially if you are going the The Other Palace theatre, which is just around the corner. There is a good menu selection and the drinks list is comprehensive. Food was well-prepared and presented and, overall, the meal was reasonable value. Service was rather indifferent, which was a shame, but we would go there again.

The food was of a great quality however there was a slight mix up over our order and the free cocktail we were intitled to but the staff did resolve the problem.

Our server was great, food delicious and great atmosphere. We had theatre tickets and didn't even tell the server but all food came in v timely manner.

Had the early evening menu, 2 courses £12.95. Mackerel pate was excellent. Main courses bit limited for my taste but absolutely fine. The milk for a coffee was completely solid (it turned out to be congealed cream) but it was changed with absolutely no fuss and with an apology. For the money good value. The only thing I noticed was the smell of the grill (smelt like firelighters now and again) from the kitchen. Browns is generally consistent with good service.

Waiter could have been more professional. Dropped the teaspoon right into my coffee when I requested one. Should have been left on the side should I need to inspect the cleanliness.

Nice place and food good but waitress was not aware of the 25% off food deal that we booked through Bookatable and did not apply the discount to the bill even after we explained that we had booked the deal!
