Restaurant description

In the heart of one of London’s most vibrant areas, surrounded by theatres, galleries and shops, Browns Brasserie & Bar – Covent Garden serves a mouth-watering variety of British & European-inspired dishes. Housed in a converted building which was previously the Westminster County Court, Browns also offers pre- and post-theatre suppers.

Spanning from breakfast through to lunch and dinner, the Browns menu offers all-day brasserie dining. Indulgent plats du jour and Sunday roasts are staple favourites, while sumptuous European flavours include lobster tagliatelle, the wild boar & chorizo burger, or steak pie with buttered mash and broad beans. A sophisticated children’s menu at Browns offers tempting favourites with a grown-up twist.

Showcasing a penchant for cocktails, the Browns bar offers an array of classic mixes, signature concoctions and thirst-quenching mocktails, as well as fine world wines, and smoothies. Enjoy Browns’ afternoon tea and cake accompanied freshly-roasted coffee from an independent supplier, or a warming pot of loose leaf tea.

Browns Brasserie & Bar - Covent Garden is just a 2-minute walk from Leicester Square Tube Station.

We were booked in for the lunchtime festive menu, however, when we were seated the waiter wasn't aware of this and brought us the regular menus and before we had chance to tell him he disappeared. We then had a lengthy wait until he returned, at least 15 minutes. All in all the food was superb and excellent value for money, but the service was a little slow.

Standards maintained despite the Christmas rush (which for others can be an excuse to be lazy)

The atmosphere is very relaxed, you can stay as long as you wish without being hassled, and there is no pressure to finish and leave. Ideal for social lunches, etc.

A great night, but very busy so service a little slow. Some mistakes made when taking order but quickly sorted with complimentary starter and dessert!

Great location and lovely, big restaurant. Very friendly and pretty quick service. Food generally really good, steak could have been a little more tender!
