Good value and nicely presented. On he down side the chicken pie was just a big puff!! and spoilt the overall effect.

Situated in the heart of the city, in a converted wing of the old Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Browns Brasserie & Bar Cambridge serves tasty European-inspired dishes and colourful cocktails in a lively atmosphere. Set in a building close to the River Cam gorgeous Virginia creeper frames the entrance, and Browns boasts a terrace for sunny summer dining.

Indulgent plats du jour and Sunday roasts are staple favourites, while sumptuous flavours include roasted lamb with potatoes & minted peas, Browns’ signature fish pie, and decadent salted caramel profiteroles. A sophisticated children’s menu at Browns offers tempting favourites with a grown-up twist.

Showcasing a penchant for cocktails, the Browns bar offers an array of classic mixes, signature concoctions and thirst-quenching mocktails, as well as fine world wines, and smoothies. Enjoy Browns’ afternoon tea and cake accompanied freshly-roasted coffee from an independent supplier, or a warming pot of loose leaf tea.

I haven't been to Browns for quite some time, so was pleased to find the food and service was still good. Our table was booked for 3pm when I knew it would be fairly quiet. We all had the crab and avocado stack with sour dough bread to start, then two of us had fish & chips, one steak and chips and one fish pie. All were piping hot and delicious. There was a mix up with one of the orders, my niece couldn't decide between fish & chips or the tagliatelle with mushrooms. She finally chose the tagliatelle but the waitress got the order muddled and was mortified when she realised she'd got the order wrong. My niece was quite happy to have the fish and chips and quite happily accepted them as she'd had difficulty choosing in the first place, but the waitress came back with a portion of the tagliatelle 10 minutes later and said it was on the house!

Efficient booking service delighted with 25% discount
Very professional service and excellent customer care.Food was hot and very tasty ,a good menu.
Very disappointed with the fact that the bill produced did NOT give the discount and we were embarrassed to have to represent this bill and after some time it was adjusted to give discount.

I think that it would be sensible to remove the skin from the fish of a child portion. And can we have brown sauce please. Lovely service and apologies for the mess!

Long wait to get table we had booked

Food is lovely however took us well over an hour to sit down to a table which I will say, we took it upon ourselves to do so as nobody took us too the table, we was booked in at 8 but didn't sit down till 9. Whilst waiting we had cocktails, these came all in different sizes glasses started off with a cocktail glass then went into a G&T glass then the last cocktail was in a champagne flute? (We ordered pornstar martinis everytime) but still was charged the same price? Even though each time it was a different size?
We came on the train and wanted a night out spent in Cambridge (hence why we booked an earlier table) we arrived at half 7 to have one drink at the bar before having our meal however we didn't leave till 10:45 not by choice due to the fact they didn't seat us down, until way over an hour after our table was booked. Then ordering was a pain trying to get someones attention. Some staff was rude and when asked why have we not sat down yet at around 8:30 the front of house turned round and said "well can't you see we are busy, you'll get one when I can find one free" overall it was embarrassing as took two couples along with us to have a meal here by our recommendation but left embarrassed but still can't complain about the food, maybe less walk ins should be stopped and tables reserved for a certain time kept reserved as this was what it looked like as we was waiting to get seated.

Food ok but portions small. Relaxed but noisy atmosphere. Discount not applied to bill as indicated on bookatable booking.
