The Garden Restaurant at Bromley Court serves flavour-packed European food within an elegant hotel built in 1801. Classic afternoon teas are also served, with a cocktail bar and terrace further adding to the charm.
From the menu, sample roast breast of chicken with grain mustard cream sauce, or seared ox tongue with woodland mushroom and Madeira jus. Amongst the fish dishes, enjoy salmon and dill fishcakes, or for a vegetarian option, try steamed herb pancake filled with roast butternut squash and served with pesto and rocket.
Tempting desserts at the Bromley Court Hotel include vanilla pods cheesecake with chocolate sauce and strawberry ice cream, and a chocolate and coconut parfait with Malibu and pineapple compote. Housed in the hotel’s former library, classic cocktails are served in the bar, whilst the south-facing terrace offers a sunny spot for al fresco dining.

A late booking and we very much enjoyed the experience in pleasant surroundings.

The afternoon tea was good - a nice selection of sandwiches and cakes. The surroundings are lovely and the garden room is well decorated. The only downside being, the service wasn't amazing, for our last half an hour there, we didn't see a member of staff. We'd wanted to order a second drink but couldn't because there was nobody around. Also when I had afternoon tea at Claridges in London recently, the staff asked if you wanted to take home the cakes you couldn't manage, and they got given to you in a beautiful cake box - this was a really nice touch that would add that something extra!

It was a lovely treat for me and my mother and sister. The staff are incredibly polite, the food was sublime and the ambience (apart from a screaming child which is not the hotel's fault) was just as we would have wanted. Will definitely visit again.

Seven of us came for afternoon tea. The food was delicious. We had a smoker and a child of four with us and they were both happy as they could sit and play outside as the weather was lovely. The staff were very helpful but after they had brought the food and we had our teas and coffees etc. with top ups seemed to disappear. We had ordered a cake for a birthday surprise but couldn't find anybody to box it up as we were full up and wanted to take it home. The cake itself was fine for £20. We had to go and look for staff for out bill and the cake. But having said that we didn't make that a problem as were all quite chilled out and enjoying ourselves. I think the staff are really helpful but there are not enough of them. There was some kind of wake going on further down the gardens and I think most of the staff were there. All in all a good experience with just a small amount of irritation.

The interior of the venue was lovely, very nice atmosphere, however, the customer service from two of the staff were very rude and confused our booking and then argued that I was wrong when that was certainly not correct. I will not be going back due to the restaurant manager's lack of respects for their customers and for not accepting responsibility for their own confusion. This resulted in us having a negative experience which should have been a good one.
