what a shame!! This restaurant used to be "the place to go" for special occasions but sadly no more. They seemed to have lost their identity / direction and are no longer the Fine Dinning experience they were. We booked for supper on Saturday night and arrived just after 7.0pm to find a disc jockey set up in the front area of the restaurant. We so nearly did not go in but sadly we did. For what ever reason the whole offer seems to have been "dummed down". The choices on the menu were limited and the whole experience most disappointing. Our bill for two starters, two mains and one dessert, together with two glasses of champagne and a carafe of very "oaked" wine (not stated as such on the wine list) was £128. When we left the Manager totally avoided eye contact.
I consider myself a Foodie and frequently travel into London for lunch and supper. Until Saturday I would have recommended Brasserie Vacherin without hesitation but sadly no more. At 8.0pm the restaurant was half full and yet the Chinese restaurant on the other side of the road was packed.
The disc jockey of course attracted an "interesting" clientele with dinners arriving in cut off jeans and tee shirts and drinkers in the bar making our departure from the restaurant challenging to say the least.
Sorry Vacherin decide what you want to be and sort yourselves out!!!

Took our friends out for dinner on Wednesday 21st March 2018. As always there was a lovely inviting atmosphere and quite a few other diners. Staff were friendly and our waitress was very knowledgeable about the food and explained the "specials" (which 2 of our party chose - Beef & Oyster Pie - delicious). One of my personal favourites is the Seabass which has never disappointed and the lamb shank which just falls off the bone and melts in your mouth.

The food was good quality, the lamb shank was beautifully cooked and the mashed potato was soft and well seasoned.
Waiters were kind and alert but as the restaurant started to empty, they rushed a bit too much, giving the impression they were looking forward to us leaving
It was 10.00pm on a Friday evening.

I guess the best restaurant in Sutton. The food was delicious (perhaps a bit too much garlic with the siroin steak, but that is an individual preference). The waiter was fantastic and funny and professional and took good care of us. We all enjoyed our stay a lot. Thank you!

An excellent meal which we all enjoyed. The atmosphere was good and the staff were helpful, courteous and efficient. Our small blonde waitress was very sweet and could not have done more to make us welcome and ensured everyghing was to our liking. We thoroughly recommend and will definitely be returning. A first class restaurant with a sjperb and imaginative chef.
