Restaurant description

Opening out onto the sands of Cooden Beach, Brasserie On The Beach champions local produce and freshly-caught seafood to deliver a contemporary dining experience with coastal views.

The seasonal menu at Brasserie On The Beach changes every February, June and October. Succulent Sunday roasts are also not to be missed, with tender roast beef and vegetarian nut roast always available.

On warm days the Brasserie’s glass walls will fold back so you can breathe in the fresh sea air. For the colder days, sit in the warm and admire the view from the floor-to-ceiling windows. The bar is open for pre and post-dining drinks, with the Gin Palace serving 18 artisan gins and a range of specialist tonics.

Cooden Beach Train Station is just a minute’s walk from the restaurant, with Cooden Beach Golf Club a further 5-minute walk away. The Brasserie on the Beach is under a 10-minute drive from Bexhill-on-Sea and around 25 minutes from Eastbourne.

Dishes displayed on a la carte menus are representative of the type of food available at the restaurant.

Very good food and pleasant surroundings ruined by abysmal service.

Great food and very friendly staff but so slow and a little chaotic. We had the lobster which was wonderful and reasonably priced. But they really need more staff and a way to identify which table the food needs to go to! Like many businesses they are trying their best in this Covid era.

Excellent afternoon tea. We only had afternoon tea so couldn't comment on other food etc but what I saw looked good. Service was exceptional as was location.

We felt the restaurant location and dining was at a very good standard . The food was very nice and well presented . Good c 19 precaution put in place too . This was a first and we would love to re visit in the near future . Maybe consider one day changing the restaurant carpet as it looked dated and not in keeping with a contemporary design setting . Excellent service too . Many thanks Neil johns

Lovely location. Friendly service but a few new team members perhaps as the service was disjointed & a little unorganised. We were asked to order all of our breakfast items at the same time - continental items & cooked and they would be brought to us due to Covid restrictions on buffet items which was fine. Except they all turned up within 2 mins of each other. The cooked items were not very hot & the black pudding wasn't cooked anywhere near enough. It was a shame as for £17 pp you would expect every aspect to be perfect. To me it seemed as if there were too many staff on and they were all covering eachothers tables which lead to confusion.

Asked for a table by a window and we got one right by the bifold doors, looking out to the sea, with a fabulous view. Food was excellent.. this is our favorite place to eat for food, view and service ?? Nothing is too much trouble. Thank you Cooden Beach Hotel

A popular restaurant near the beach, obviously popular and deservedly so. Despite being busy it was airy and with plenty of room around tables in the Covid-19 scenario. We were celebrating a family birthday and it was a great choice

Very well organised given the COVID circumstances. Felt very relaxed and not overwhelmed by all the current rules. Friendly staff and great food. Definitely coming again!

Lovely restaurant, and in view of the current situation the dining experience was well organised, I felt very sorry for the staff having to wear masks, where for obvious reasons the customer doesn’t wear one. I suppose you’re trying to make the customer feel ‘safe’. My very personal view is I wouldn’t have been bothered or offended if they were not wearing one.
