Brasserie Joël is a celebrated French fine-dining brasserie in London. Awarded 2 AA Rosettes for culinary excellence, the restaurant secured a 9/10 from discerning food critic Giles Coren.
The Brasserie Joël menu, like the bustling South Bank around it, changes daily. Perfectly balanced dishes such as lobster bisque and dry-aged beef tournedos rossini are created using the finest seasonal ingredients available. A charcoal grill is used to cook tender fish and dry-aged meat, while specials often include unusual recipes such as piglet shoulder and sardines tempura.
The Brasserie Joël restaurant boasts a stunning dark interior, with a touch of French colour in the red and white table trimmings and potted plants. Enjoy a Sunday roast to share, with suckling pork and chargrilled seabass taking centre-stage.

I expected more effort would be put into an expensive set course New Years Eve dinner. No table cloths and a candle that no one bothered lighting. The vegetarian selection lacked flavour and imagination and was especially disappointing. It was also clearly the restaurants intention to get you in and out as quickly as possible with each of the four courses served without any time lapse between each. The one saving grace was the live music which offered welcome distraction from not a great experience

The food was over priced for the value and in fact my wife was unable to eat hers ad they over cooked it. It was short staffed and therefore we had too wait over an hour for our starter and before completing starter our main was served. I would not expect this from a high priced restaurant. Would not eat there again.

Slightly disappointed, nothing particularly bad but nothing particularly good. Some really good staff but some not so good, didn't have dessert because it took so long for them to come to our table that we'd decided to leave.Sorry but I wouldn't come here again.
