Booked the previous evening in the event of poor weather afore fishing the nearby Bourne Rivulet. A great success, great atmosphere, good food and wines and attentive and fun service. A shame to leave but .....

Part of The Good Pub Guide's Pub Group of The Year 2016, Bourne Valley Inn offers a trusty repertoire of British recipes which have earned it an AA Rosette. Enjoy the lush garden dotted with whitewashed picnic benches when weather permits, or the cosy country lodge-style dining room.

Presenting rich, natural ingredients sourced from the neighbouring countryside, Bourne Valley Inn sources seasonal goods from local farms, fishmongers and estates. Encircled by lakes and rivers and serving up home-smoked mackerel and salmon, Bourne Valley’s speciality fish dishes include trout fillet with chorizo and brown shrimp, or smoked haddock and salmon fishcake with baby spinach, with a top-quality grill menu also on offer.

With treats stored under glistening glass domes, the cake counter at Bourne Valley café is piled high with tempting treats. Traditional Sunday roasts are a weekly staple, and a varied menu and relaxed atmosphere make Bourne Valley near Andover a family favourite.

Also home to a spacious barn private dining area, Bourne Valley is a 14-minute drive from central Andover.

The staff could do better in acknowledging their arrivals. We were stood waiting for at least 3 or 4 mins. It was also apparent that the staff wanted to go home at just after 10 o clock, because we were not made to feel welcome after this time. Very disappointed!

Friendly attentive staff who gave the impression that nothing was too much trouble. Pre dinner g&t was just right with an unusual twist. Very tasty meal and the chicken and leek pie was delicious.

I was very pleased with my experience at the Bourne Valley Inn, the food was incredible, the service very good. The food did take a long time, however it was lunchtime on Father's Day so cannot be surprised! The only thing I didn't like was the toasted bread with the oil...thought it was very strange and was quite burnt around the edges!
