The Bonne Auberge in Essen, which was reopened in 2007, has been serving French specialities and Mediterranean cuisine for more than 30 years. The vaulted basement has a modern design and looks cosy and exceptionally stylish. Art adorns the walls but also manifests itself on plate - The Foie Gras starter with cranberries could, for example, be followed by fillets of gilthead on champagne cabbage with pineapple sauce. A bistro and a wine store were added to the restaurant in 2008. Ever since, the Bonne Auberge has been serving snacks, such as quiche, flame cake and French cheese ? and glasses of fine wines. You can have sweets and café de Paris in the afternoon. Culinary themed special events, such as Mittelmeer-Romanze (Mediterranean romance), midsummer night and live music events add variety to the menu and social calendar.
