We needed a quick meal before a concert and it met our requirements perfectly.

A funky industrial space inside the iconic Barbican Centre, Bonfire specialises in burgers, rotisserie chicken and all manner of U.S. comfort foods. Outside there is a huge terrace space overlooking the mini lake, perfect for an evening cocktail.

The Bonfire menu really packs in a great selection of flame-grilled treats. On the burger side, there is the classic cheese, bacon and BBQ sauce option, or diners can choose patties packed with truffle mayo, BBQ pulled pork and green chillies, or even a vegetarian choice of portobello mushroom, grilled halloumi and smoked paprika. There is spit-roast chicken from the rotisserie, and sides like fries topped with blue cheese.

Desserts at Bonfire restaurant at the Barbican are just as indulgent – there is salted caramel brownie with vanilla bean ice cream, and even gluten-free options like white chocolate cheesecake. On the drink menu, there are rich milkshakes, a choice of craft beers, and cocktails like classic mojitos and negronis.

Bonfire in London is 5 minutes' walk from Barbican Tube Station.

Service was slow and a table of more people which sat down 15 mins after us got served before us. It's not as is our order was anything different, just burgers, like their order.

We had to wait 30 minutes for two burgers and chips. We informed the waiter of our need to leave by 19:15 and our food arrived and 19:05.
Quality of food was good but service delivery very poor.

We were disappointed. It took time to order drinks, the burgers were ok but nothing special and one of our party (food ordered at the same time as others) had to wait for food.

We both had the the nachos to share. Nachos were good but oh my goodness the burger was amazing one of the best ever. Three small but very tasty patties. I opted for Chucky chips which were just normal sized. The bill was such a good price compared to Cote where we normally eat before films or theatre. It was half the price than Cote. We will definitely be going back.

The restaurant was nice and quiet and the food was good. I like the decor. I had a lot of trouble finding the restaurant though, as it is not clearly signposted from the Barbican, and even when approaching it from the lounge next door I still wasn't sure that it was the right place.

Very unhappy as food came only after 30 minutes dedpite the promise by the waitress that it would only take 5-10 minutes.
We had to est in a hurry and still missed the first part of the show.

Quite a sombre and dark room, with very bight lights from the ceiling. The nachos were dry and lacked cheese. Burger was OK but came with a normal bun, not the brioche bun advertised.

Great atmosphere & service. We ordered & they delivered in plenty of time for us to go and see the show. The cocktails although not a wide range were delicious. My friends had burgers but I went with the chicken which was moist and had a nice spicy rub. The sweet potato fries are delicious. All round a nice casual place to go before a show.
