Restaurant description

Bringing an irresistible slice of French decadence to Bloomsbury, Bon Vivant is a luxurious corner brasserie with Parisian-style pavement seating. Inside, a selection of French wines and gourmet treats are served in plush comfort.

The Bon Vivant menu starts off with a selection of fresh pastries in the morning along with colourful juices, smoothies and gourmet coffees, with a hugely popular brunch menu also served at the weekends. Later in the day, there are generous charcuterie plates, along with classic French favourites like foie gras terrine, bavette steak, poached spring trout with leek velouté, and vegetarian options like the tagliatelle with fresh truffles.

Alongside the French wine list at Bon Vivant in Bloomsbury, there are eclectic signature cocktails and mocktails made with premium infusions and artisan spirits.

A true taste of indulgent French dining, Bon Vivant is just a 3-minute walk from Russell Square Tube Station.

Lovely small cosy restaurant. Friendly efficient staff. However a little surprised that menu seemed more towards Italian fare than French! Delicious though the linguine was, would have preferred charcuterie, rillettes etc.

When we booked it said that Bottomless Prosecco was £18 with a minimum spend of £6 on food. Wasn’t the case when we paid, was £20 for bottomless and £10 minimum spend. We also had to pay for a bottle of Prosecco as they didn’t tell us our time was up. Also my eggs were undercooked ??

The food was good, (onion soup and fish soup were both delicious), decent sized portions and arrived in about the right amount of time. 4 out of 5 for the food. The service in the main though was pretty unfriendly, verging on the surly. The restaurant was busy but not to the point where it appeared unmanageable, so it was difficult on the surface to see why there was a problem. Also if the place says last orders are at 10.00 it seems unfair to be made to feel uncomfortable if you're still eating at 10.30. We nonetheless did leave the requisite tip, because a) the food was good, and b) the staff had done their job, even if they couldn't manage a smile between them. I would recommend this restaurant in the context of it being the closest and only proper independent restaurant near to the cinema at the Brunswick Centre.

Amazing French restaurant, we have been there with friends (we all are French) and we definitely found a place where we will go back to. The floor team is very nice, they know what they are taking about, they advise really well about wine and food. And the food is completely amazing, and the meat cooked perfectly also which is rare in London. We can see that anything is high quality. Can't wait to go back there ! I recommended to anyone who want to try the real french cuisine in London

We had a lovely time here. It’s a friendly, neighborhood place with comfortable seating, and some very appealing menu options.

The prosecco was excellent but the food was not really value for money. They also didn't reply to an email I sent the day before making a dietary requirement enquiry, which i was not pleased with because it was an allergy issue. That being said, the staff were incredibly efficient and helpful.
