Bodega Monumental is one of the most classic restaurants in the Sants neighbourhood in Barcelona, since it has been open since 1937 very close to Plaza España.
As you might have guessed, the food served at Bodega Monumental is traditional Catalan, but with a truly authentic cooking style where flavours and presentation may be reminiscent of real home-cooking.
For this reason, there are dishes such as "bravas" or Catalan sausage with beans that are almost mandatory, plus the pig's trotters, codfish or black rice with cuttlefish. And of course, draught beer, served like only the classic taverns know.
You can also opt for some of its readymade menus, especially when you want to taste more dishes, and bear in mind that both wines and vermouths of Bodega Monumental can be bought to take away.
