We sat in the conservatory which has a much nicer feel thn the old locarion. Having been regulars at the old restaurant and always loving the food, we were disappointed this time as three of the dishes were quite bland. The trout was tasteless although the other aspects of the dish were good and it was overcooked. The orange and marscapone dessert was again bland rather than subtle. The salt cod was freezing cold and it felt odd coming with edamame beans.
It also felt very rushed. As soon as our startes were finished our mains were delibered nd we had to ask for a delay before they brought the desserts. Ive always given Bluebells 5 starts in the past but this time 3.5 feels about right. When we checked the menus two days before, the pricing was shown as £24/35 but that evening it had risen by over 30%. As they phoned us to confirm the booking, they should also have mentioned the price rise.

A really special birthday lunch here on a Saturday - a good atmosphere, and plenty of fellow diners, but still excellent and efficient service. The 3 course menu has a great range of dishes to suit every taste. One of our party is lactose intolerant, and we were told that virtually everything on the menu could be adapted. It just shows what can be done when things are prepared freshly to order! The starters were outstanding - and we really were spoiled for choice. Great tastes, quality and superb presentation. Mains were just right too - good portions, not like some places where you are still hungry after eating your mains. Desserts are equally good - and there's always something lovely and chocolatey for those chocoholics in the party!

Had a lunchtime booking with my wife, we had different dishes from the menu and were in agreement on the exceptional quality of all three courses.

Will be returning in the near future

We had a Sunday lunch as an anniversary treat. The food was excellent - main course of beef and lamb. Our dessert plates had happy anniversary written on them in chocolate which was a nice touch.
