First time I had dined in the Restaurant and it was excellent - first class service, quality food and (by Central London norms) reasonably propiced.

A former inn that served the workers of Westminster for more than 600 years, Blue Boar Westminster in London now runs as an urbane steak house.     We booked this for my wife's Birthday as a special treat. The food was good and what we expected.
    The service was very poor for the price, they forgot two sets of chips with the main meal, these took ten minutes so the steak was going cold. We were talking and wanted a relaxed meal, the table was being cleared when anyone finished. They even tried to take a meal away whilst one of us was still eating. A couple of us had drinks with mixers, at one point they poured the remainder of the coke bottles in without asking and drowned the drinks.
    All in all nice food but the service fell a long way short of what I would expect for the price.

    The sommelier recommended an excellent wine. The service was good but could have been a bit better with more interaction. I didn't really like the main dish, the combination of ingredients did not work well together - sea bass and peppers. The dessert was very good however. Overall a good restaurant which I would use again.

    Very luxurious and formal. Waited over an hour for food to be served and when it arrived the portions were disappointingly small. Beautiful interior but not for the casual diner nor worth the expense for food so small.

    The front door appears to always be locked even though a menu board resides out front. Seeing patrons in the bar I knocked on the door for a good 10min while the bartender just watched. Walked all the way around the building before asking in the adjacent hotel if I could enter via there.

    The food was okay, our host was great. We went to the bar before the restaurant was open, hearing the arrogant bartender berate his staff in the manner he did almost made me want to leave the establishment entirely. No man should ever speak to a woman in such a way, let alone in a supposedly professional environment.

    The constant pressure via upsells was too much. If you need to inform me constantly that my meal is too small and that I should order more, perhaps there is an issue with your portion sizes and not my wallet?

    I'm glad that I have the habit of double checking receipts before pulling out the plastic, the additional charge of £38 for a bottle wine we didn't ask for or consume was a little much as was the excuse "we weren't sure to charge for that or not".

    The food was okay, however IMO a steak should never be a 3/8" thick from a quality restaurant, I can pan fry a steak like that at home for 1/10 the cost.

    Wonderful meal both from fixed price menu and a la carte. Highlights were the cod and crab tortellini in lobster bisque and coconut panna cotta. Good wine selection. Attentive and professional service. Comfortable environment despite formality of the room. Very close to Westminster abbey.

    Absolutely brilliant, booked the restaurant for my wife's birthday and could not fault anything and they made it extra special with complimentary Champagne when we sat down a platter of chocolates for dessert wishing her a happy birthday,
