Blakes Restaurant is the flagship restaurant of Hard Days Night Hotel, named after the godfather of British pop art, Sir Peter Blake who created the iconic sleeve for the Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band album. The famous Whittard's Afternoon Tea serving Traditional Afternoon Tea , High Tea and Cream Tea is also served in Blakes daily between 2pm - 5pm.

We dined just after 6pm and were told it was new al la carte menu. Although the ambience and service was good, the food was disappointing. The starters were quite good but the mains were disappointing, with small portion and lacked flavour, I chose a pud as still hungry but this too was sadly not up to expectation. Very disappointed as we were looking forward to really lovely food at the price they charge.

You are paying for the " Beatles " theme, certainly not the food or the service.

Special offer until 7.00, asked if it still applied it was 7.08 and we had taken a few minuets to get seated order drinks etc. Informed we where too late. Thought this was a bit mean and military. Food was fantastic every course was well balanced and well presented. Would definitely go again and recomend food. Waiter was too pushy and impatient, despite the reatraunt being empty. We asked for a break before ordering desert, he kept asking until we gave in. We said we would have coffee later, it arrived while we where still having drinks. Would have been better if waiter, waited until customer was ready.
