With the feel of a 1960s private members' club, Blades at Hush is an exclusive restaurant and whisky bar tucked away in a tranquil Mayfair courtyard with outdoor seating. Premium British flavours are served, along with fine whiskies from around the world, and traditional afternoon teas.

Luxuries like lobster and steak are the main focus of the Blades at Hush menu, with prime cuts available from both Angus and USDA beef, served with a selection of sauces, including the signature Blades whisky veal glaze. Whole Cornish lobster can be ordered grilled, tempura or thermidor, while indulgent sides include Aspen fries with parmesan and truffle oil, and creamed spinach with hollandaise and nutmeg.

The Hush at Blades whisky list is truly extensive, featuring Scottish malts from the highlands, lowlands, Speyside, and the islands. There are also Japanese varieties, American bourbons, and the restaurant's signature blend. Afternoon tea at Blades at Hush London includes treats like Earl Grey crème brûlée, and loose leaf teas from H. R. Higgins of Mayfair.

Offering private members' club exclusivity without the actual membership costs, Blades at Hush Mayfair is a shining example of traditional British sophistication. Bond Street Tube Station is 4 minutes' walk away.

Absolute joy from start to finish. Beautiful room, friendly, efficient and professional service (waiters helpful and good humoured). Food is lovely, not huge quantities but it's afternoon tea! The Earl Grey creme brûlée is amazing. Cocktails are fun- sweet but tasty. Overall the whole experience was fantastic. Would highly recommend!

We had a truly wonderful experience at Hush on Saturday. I'd been previously to the bar for drinks only and was a little wary of booking Afternoon Tea. I'd chosen it specifically for the outdoor area as I knew it was going to be hot. I'm going to start with the not so great part of the afternoon....but trust me it truly picked up after a bit of a rocky start. I had actually put on the booking request that we wanted a table outside if possible. So I was a little disappointed when we arrived to be told that Afternoon Tea is only served upstairs in the restaurant. We asked if we could sit outside for one drink before going upstairs. The Maitre D' is very brusque and quite unfriendly. We saw her undermine her staff and she definitely wasn't in the camp of nothing is too great a request for our customers. We moved inside when people started smoking around us - you forget how much you don't like it until it's right next to you. As we walked into the room where Afternoon Tea was to be served, it was like we were walking into heaven. It's light, bright and airy and we were treated like royalty. Waiters are wearing crisp white suits and it just feels truly special. We'd booked the Gin and Tea menu. We were greeted with gin cocktails and given time to relax. The sandwich choices were spot on and we were delighted when we were offered more sandwiches. The scones were warmed at our request without any hesitation - and the jams were fabulous, not your bog standard strawberry. The tea options were so different and I loved my choice of Emperor's Tea. A menu card arrived offering us more cocktails....I had to check that they were included in the price as it just seemed too good to be true. The macaroons and the earl grey creme brûlée were a great way to finish. I've never eaten my way through a whole Afternoon Tea. It was my mum's birthday - and we were absolutely delighted when we were each given a glass of bubbles to help us celebrate. I can't speak more highly of this place.

On the run up to our booking the reception team were so helpful in responding to my many queries and due to illness we had to adjust numbers at the last minute, but the team were responsive and understanding.
On the day we were met by a wonderful display of smiles and beautiful china and our welcome cocktails. Being a non-drinker it concerned me that i would be stuck with tap water but they provided the same minus the alcohol and it was fabulous.
The sandwiches and cakes were tasty and the girls chose their additional cocktails which had lovely names such as Pippy Longstocking and Violet Beaureguard and each were flavoured with a particular jam. The staff were more than happy to provide more clotted cream (thank goodness!) and were very smart and helpful.

I would definitely recommend this hideaway jewel in Mayfair.

It was a treat for my daughter's 19th birthday and it was a treat!! Lovely setting, extremely pleasant and friendly waiting staff. I thoroughly enjoyed both cocktails, just as well their was plenty of sandwiches to soak it up. Food excellent especially the open chicken and tarragon sandwich mmm lovely. Enormous teapots for plenty of tea, does get a bit cold towards the end though, maybe needed a top up of hot water. Just looking for an excuse to revisit.
