Had dinner at hotel du vin in tunbridge wells on Saturday early evening with a table booked for 6.30pm We decided to have their fixed price menu for 2 courses at £18.95 including a glass of wine each. The meal came and went. It was totally uninspiring for a hotel of this standard. The main course was pulled lamb, with a small piece of mashed potato and a bit of boiled spinach! The bill arrived. We were charged £19.95 each and 2 glasses of wine , which should have even included, for £5.95 each. I didn't query the bill at the time as the restaurant was busy. When I got home I emailed the restaurant to say that we had been overcharged. I am still waiting for a reply

I took my granddaughter to the Hotel du Vin for Sunday lunch on 07/07/2019. I was very disappointed. Soup merely so-so. Roast potatoes were hardly browned let alone crispy. Yorkshire puddings were overcooked and just like leather - not eaten! The pastry of the Tarte au citron was very thick and not properly cooked and it therefor had a soggy and claggy bottom. The bill was £75.20, including 2 drinks. Totally unacceptable for an establishment with a reputable reputation.

Staff should have checked we were on the set menu rather than having to tell them. Bit chilly as our table was in direct line to the main door constantly opening. Service good. Food excellent.

Lovely hotel. Good Food. There is a discretionary 10% tip, which was added on, and the Wine prices are extremely high.
